That's really good news, thanks! Now my only concern is will the E-ATX fit in my mid tower ATX case. Also need to procure a decent cpu cooler, may put it on water.

If I buy this and it has a pre-2.01 BIOS installed and I only have an i7-4930k, will I be able to update the BIOS?

If your BIOS chip has a pre-2.01 microcode and you don't have a SandyBridge-E processor, you have a few options, may be EVGA can send you an updated BIOS chip (by letter) for you to swap with your older BIOS chip, or you need to send to EVGA your older BIOS chip and EVGA can update and send back to you

The board is an EATX and is slightly larger dimensions wise, see details

I have the X79 FTW, is 100% sure normal ATX form factor, don't worry, even Jacob (EVGA product manager) months ago made the same mistake you are doing now

Ok, im good with that, my old case was dated anyway and it will get re-used at some point. Now I am tempted to pull a 6950 out of my crossfire rig and place in this beast!

Sorry, I was wrong, you are right , months ago was a discussion on the EVGA forums about if the X79 Dark was or was not XL-ATX, after a lot discussion was determined that the X79 Dark was just a E-ATX, I was confusing XL-ATX with E-ATX, you are right the X79 FTW is a E-ATX motherboard

Yeah I thought so, I know some older ATX cases can accommodate but didn't want any surprises so I went with the HAF, nice case for possible water cooling in the future.
