I have two BIOSes to post here for all X299 motherboards.  The Spectre updates are located at the top, and a previous BIOS released before the Spectre updates will be posted below, if you choose not to update to the Spectre microcode patch.  The second BIOS posted below is included in the Spectre patch, so you do not need to flash both BIOSes.

BIOS 1.07/1.11/1.13 Updates

  • Update CPU microcode for Intel security
  • Support Intel SSD Key for VROC
  • Improves smart fan speed control
  • Unlock VDIMM range to 2.3V for extreme memory OC (X299 Dark only)
This BIOS is intended to update the CPU microcode to increase security related to the reported Spectre vulnerability for processors used on X299 motherboards.  This microcode update is expected to be used in conjunction with related patches from your Operating System or VMM to ensure complete protection from reported vulnerabilities.

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:
         151-SX-E299-KR - EVGA X299 Dark - v1.07
         142-SX-E297-KR - EVGA X299 FTW K - v1.11
         131-SX-E295-KR - EVGA X299 Micro ATX - v1.13

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

BIOS 1.05/1.09/1.11 Updates (Pre-Spectre)

  • Update ME to 11.11.50.1436 for improving Intel ME security.
  • Improve PCIe compatibility
This BIOS is intended to fix reported issues with a potential Intel Management Engine vulnerability on X299 motherboards. This BIOS does not update the CPU microcode to prevent Spectre-related vulnerabilities.

         151-SX-E299-KR - EVGA X299 Dark - v1.05
         142-SX-E297-KR - EVGA X299 FTW K - v1.09
         131-SX-E295-KR - EVGA X299 Micro ATX - v1.11

Windows Installation
  • Download the correct .zip file above for your motherboard.
  • First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Close all open programs.
  • Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and open update.bat
  • Press Y to start the flash process
  • DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
  • After the flashing is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Then power on again and go into BIOS to setup.
  • NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be ran from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation
  • Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
  • Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
  • From the BIOS, navigate to the Save & Exit tab and open "Select BIOS File."
  • Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

Edit:   Removed previous Spectre BIOS updates and added new BIOS updates with updated CPU microcode.

Added additional release notes for the Spectre BIOS.  We added some additional memory modification to improve memory performance.

Bear in mind that YMMV, but I've been advised that it's now possible to get POST at 4000MHz CL12 at VDIMM 1.8V. on the Dark, for example, after this BIOS.  You can probably guess who's been testing at those settings....

I really did not see any change in Performance.
I did not review before and after on my SSD Drives.

Reports that I am seeing is that the update mainly effects m.2 NVME drives, where the 4K benchmarks drop by almost 50%.  Not a lot of documentation at this point, except for this thread:

That would be good news. I was worried the fix would cause a slowdown. Of course it's easy to not notice when you are on a fast system those people with an older system might notice more.

    Go here:  https://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html

Download CrystalDiskMark and run it.  Most people are seeing performance drops in the 4K and 4K Q32 benchmarks...

I haven't benchmarked my 960 Pro in a long time.  Here is what the performance was on my X99 FTW K last fall:  People are reporting about a 40% to 50% drop in the  4K measurements

Not seeing this at all, your hardware go bad?
Also Intel has said that the Code they gave out was not really the Best Code they should have given out.
Did you reset the Bios Back to the Default Settings Before you Updated the Bios to 2.10?
Yes their are some who say you do not need to but then this is what happens sometimes when you don't.

How to fix WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - Microsoft Support
Reset the Bios back to the Default, Just Reset it with the Red Button and then setup the Bios how you want it but Do Not OC the CPU and Keep the Memory Set to Auto.
You cannot always use the same OC Setting on Different Bios Versions, so you need to start from scratch with each Bios Version.
What are you setting AVX1 and AVX2 in the Bios when you where overclocking the CPU and Memory?
Then report your finding. You might want to create your own Thread about this Issue to keep this Thread on Topic.

So my new x299 dark came and my new system is builded and my dark has bios v104.. I see no issues so far but I did a big upgrade everything feels fast.. should I upgrade to v106? I'm worried I may have problems if I do.

Intel doesn't recommend the fix in 1.06 any more.
I had memory overclock issues with 1.05 that work in 1.06.

I hope EVGA releases a BIOS for DARK with all changes through 1.06 except the one Intel no longer recommends.

Intel has made the microcode updates available to OEMs for 6th, 7th, and 8th gen processors. That means firmware updates can begin again. No timeline, of course, but at least now we know that EVGA should have what they need in order to restart the process.

New and improved CPU microcode BIOS files are now available.  Please use these to update your X299 motherboards for Spectre-related vulnerabilities.

Just for clarification, on the X299 Dark, all 3 bioses are the same when shipped correct?

So is 1.07 a winner fix or breaks other things?

So what you are saying is that the microcode in the bios is newer than the ones originally released?  Trying to remember...was the original Spectre bios 110?
    Thanks

For the X299 FTW K, yes.  v1.10 was the original release, which we later removed when Intel decided to release newer and better microcode.  These BIOSes, dated 3/21/18, are the latest and final (to my knowledge) for X299, with regards to the Spectre vulnerabilities.
