By the way, I also have the Ncase M1 and have a 3090 XC3 Ultra on order. But would prefer to deshroud and use Noctua instead if possible. And as a side note, just found out that the 3090 FTW3 also fits the Ncase (but it’s too late for me to change my order).

the Ncase is an excellent case, have both v5 and v6.1, v5 is 8700k and 1080ti and the v6.1 is currently 3950x and 2080ti but waiting for the 3090 (I run both the 1080ti and the 2080ti deshrouded and Noctuas on them since day one).
 
I’d really love to find out if deshrouding on the XC3 is possible, if it is I’ll install 2 Noctuas on it (ideally 25mm or alternatively slim 15mm if the 25mm won’t fit)

How difficult is it to deshroud?  Can a newbie do it?
 

Haven't seen anyone do the 3090 yet so probably worth waiting for someone to post a video of it..

I watched a video of a tear down, but putting together the cooler...with water...yikes.  It will likely be some time before a AIO that is certified to work with the 30XXs come out, no?

That would be great because watercool is making a block for the xc3. I hope it can. Trying to get optimum tech to see which ones can de shroud, sffpc gotta bug him to do it !

The 2080ti I have is a Strix OC.

Nice setup ! I don't know if it will be possible but it would look like it is because the shroud doesn't impede on the radiator itself. The best look at least in 3D render we could have is there :  maybe some people with their own 3090 could either take pictures or if they want to deshroud themselves they could help better indeed.

Do you think you could list your build parts (not necessarily all, mostly just CPU, CPU cooler, RAM, and PSU) and approximate temperatures ingame for both CPU and GPU ? I'd really appreciate it mate, as I'm looking for an ITX build in the future (after moving out) ! I'll be very interested to know how deshrouded with " normal " fans compare to default shroud / default fans, especially in an ITX build.

Thanks for the video link, it appears that there are some small tabs on the bottom side of the heatsink (the long side towards the motherboard/pcie slot side), but that should be easily bend flat if need be for the Noctua fans to sit correctly. I‘m now only wondering if 25mm fans would fit or just slim 15mm. I saw a pic in the sff net forum where an XC3 has been installed in the Ncase and it might even leave room for a couple 15mm Noctuas underneath it without deshrouding, but I’m not interested in such solution, air turbulence and acoustics would be less than ideal.

Absolutely, usually is just a matter of a taking out a few screws and the disconnect the fans. It’s also usually completely reversible too. On my 2080ti that had some tabs protruding, I used my dremel to file down a tiny spot on the noctua’s frame so that they would sit flat.
 
Im patiently waiting for my XC3 to arrive and will definitely report back here about deshrouding etc. Although I must admit I have second thoughts if should have bought the FTW3 instead

So the FTW3 can be de shrouded, but fans can not be mounted because the heat sink is exactly like the previous model.....ugh I figured this.
