Hi all,

As the title says I would like to know your opinion on the best case for my system. At the moment I have the Banchetto 101, but is very noisy and not easy to move. (For LANs or something). I have been looking on the CoolerMaster HAF932 but I'm not very happy with its look.

I would like a "small" (or not too big as I need to move it from time to time)
Great looking
Need to fit a E-ATX (Asus R3E)
Price doesn't matter.

what would you guys suggest?

What kind of cooling, air or water?  The Cooler Master HAF 932, Cooler Master ATCS 840, Lian-Li PC-A70F and Lian-Li PC-A71F are all great choices.  You aren't going to get a small E-ATX case with dual PSU support.

All my cooling is Air. I tried water once but it went wrong, VERY wrong, so I stick with air cooling.

Well the HAF 932 is probably the best choice, and you can find a magnetic filter set for that case somewhere.  There is also an all black windowed version but its airflow is obviously much worse, but it should be fine.  However at that rate I think the Lian-Li PC-A70F and PC-A71F are the best choices, you can zip tie some 120mm fans behind the HDD cage for better cooling.

Pretty sure the "X" only has bottom power supply mount. Why do you think it will need 2 power supply's anyhow?  Your Coolermaster 1000 is listed on Sli-Zone as good for 3-470's.

Are you sure? I have run dual power supplies in the past, too many plugs to mess with IMO. Why not just get a decent 1200 unit? I find it hard to believe 1000 can't run what you have .

Is it possible to mod the HAF-x so it can carry 2x PSU?
    http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=556990

The second PSU wasn't broken.. the problem was a bad connector.

What case would you suggest with the use of a single PSU? Obsidian 800D?

that's the case i got. I could vouch for it 5/5 for utility but it's pretty big. check it and tell me what you think.

btw it can carry upto 13 fans which is pretty cool, not counting the component fans. So it can keep your system pretty cool. I would suggest that you don't go with a small case if you have that many components so that things don't heat up and damage your system, since you will be using air cooling

Nice cooling case but Im not happe with the design. I like the Corsair Obsidian-design much better. Is there any case that look like it.. you know "stylish" and still good at cooling. Is the Obsidian good a cooling? Can it cool 3x 470sc non-overclocked? (I will be mounting a few fans inside and on the back (outside the case))

I might be selling my PSUs and by the Corsair AX1200. I live in Europe, so I can't buy the X4-1600W

    1200 is more than enough for 3-470's. I have a 1200 with 3-480's,plus 2 water pumps, 10 fans,plus my drives.No problems at all.

The Silverstone FT02 is an excellent case, easily the best overall case out there.  Sleek look, aluminum body and steel side panels, excellent airflow, good cable management.  The HAF-X is another good, cheaper alternative that isn't built quite as good but air circulation is also excellent.  The Silverstone Raven RV02 is another great choice, but I personally hate the looks.

Selling both of your PSUs and getting a solid 1200W PSU is a good idea.  The Antec TruePower Quattro 1200W and Corsair AX1200 are excellent investments - the Antec has messier cables and the AX1200 is fully modular and slightly more efficient, but performance is nearly the same.  If you can afford the AX1200, go for it.  Too bad the Antec High Current Pro series won't be available until next month...

I think I'll try the Obsidian 800D. I live in Europe and have 14 days from date of purchase to test the product and if I don't like it I can return without any problems.

You should be fine if you add aftermarket fans, don't increase voltage on the cards and keep the fan speed very high under load.  But since you can easily return it, you should try a lot of different cases.

By the way, here are great video reviews of these cases.

Here are some pics. I haven't sleeved the cables yet but it will be done when I got the time to do it. I'm studying Math & economics at a University, so I spend much time studying. It will be done.. dont worry.. And I will post pics in Modrigs when complete. I might be "upgrading" the V10 to a H70 but is it worth it? The looks will probably be better but what about performance? What do you guys think?

The temps i posted were taken after 2hrs of idling with case-door closed and fans at low. (lowest as possible with zalman ZM-MFC1 plus)

How are the GPU load temps?  Upgrading to the H70 will improve your temps a little bit, nothing drastic though.

i put noise blocker fans in mine stock fans dont move any air the 800d is not a good case for air cooling in my opinion i saw a mod were one guy put a 140 in the front this is whats needed.on the plus side the roof fans will help

    GPU Load temps are:
    GPU1: 78C
    GPU2: 76C
    GPU3: 70C
    At 98-99% load (3Dmark Vantage)

I dare you to try FurMark.

Yeah you aren't going to overclock much, since overclocking requires stress testing which can heat up your cards too much in that case.  I also recommend some new fans - and the cables from the AX1200 block the bottom fan mount.  You can try rerouting the PCI-E cables behind the MOBO tray to the cut out right next to the video cards.

It would suck if there are only 140mm fan mounts on the bottom and compartment separator and no 120mm fan mounts.  If this is the case, get some adapters or zip ties for high end 120mm fans such as Thermalright FDB, Scythe S-Flex or better yet - Panaflo, Sanyo Denki (San Ace) and Delta.  There aren't many good 140mm fans - the only really high end ones are the Noctua NF-P14 but these are low speed and meant to be quiet.

Other 140mm fans might perform badly in a horizontal mounting orientation since they use sleeve bearings or slightly modified sleeve bearings.  With that being said, I'm unaware of the quality of the bearings in Noise Blockers, but I don't think they're very good.  Overclock.net forum user Tator Tot knows everything there is to know about fans and every popular computer fan on the market.
