So recently, my monitor stopped working because the DVI on the monitor itself broke somehow (whenever I plug it in, the cable just falls out and even if I screw it in, it doesnt work)
So I figured to use a DVI to VGA adapter on the graphics card and use VGA on my big monitor with 1680x1050 instead of a 1440x900 monitor.

I am not in my apartment, so I have no access to my PC but I did find these three little adapters and all three of them are different.. I'm not sure if there is any difference in them. Would any of these give different quality? (Better or worse)

(left: it's small, same as middle but on the actual DVI male, half of the pins are gone)
(middle: seems like the regular one, plus its from EVGA from the time I purchased the gtx460)
(right: same as middle, but this one is like 1.5x bigger than the other two)

Hello Zillerz,

Based on your picture, it looks like you have following adapters (left: VGA to DVI Single Link), (mid: VGA to DVI Dual Link), (mid: VGA to DVI Dual Link). The single link would be less bandwidth and is limited to 1080p resolutions.

Someone forgot Analog -v- Digital or Both.

Note the 4 Missing Pins on the Left Side of the cable.

Good point!
It shouldn't be a big deal if I use the other one, right?

DVI-D and DVI-I to VGA. What you need to know it that what ever you chose make sure you VGA 15 pin cord has 15 pins. Its makes a big difference. as long as it has 15 pins and no kinks dont worry about the thickness of the cord or what the package says  it will do more then claimed

YES,
You cannot use a DVI to VGA Adaptor on a Digital Port, the Extra 4 Pins stop that from happening.
I have some one remove the 4-Pins and it killed the monitor or I should say CRT.

15 pins or Analog is just that an Analog Signal Only, so it is limited as compared to a Digital Signal.
What is the difference between DVI-I and DVI-D?
