What is the maximum overclock for a Evga GeForce GT 610? I want to overclock it just enough to play Team Fortress 2 with over 70 fps on the directx 9 setting on Team Fortress 2. I have the cheapest gt 610 from evga.

Hhuumm it depends on your computer and gpu.. each 610 gpu is different, your just going have to play with it to find it out..

You can OC it as high as the PrecX or MSi AB tool will allow. You have to watch the temp though. I wouldn't run higher than about 80C for my taste.
Also, depending on how your GPU OC's, once you begin seeing artifacts, or your benchmark or game crashes, you'll know you need to back off on your OC.

Yes if you dont overclock the card, it will last longer.. when you overclock something its drawing more power, in which makes that item hotter. Then what spec should be, but you have 610, which are cheap. Just save up and get better card..

How about if I overclock it and turn up the speed of the fan so it will be the same temp? The fan is on auto and normally around 40%.

Since you have the cheapest GPU, it is possible your games are limited by the CPU and your resolution, so overclocking the GPU may not help. Can you list us your systems specs to see if anything else can be done?
Temperature isn't the only factor in processor lifespan, because you're increasing the frequency, electromigration is taking place and more energy is going into it. All a higher fan speed increases does is remove more heat which lowers temperature, but the processor is still using more energy to go faster. That is like an engine in a car running past redline, hypothetically if you keep the temperature lower, it will last longer than with the stock engine cooling, but will never last as long as running the engine below redline.
If you want your GT610 to last, don't overclock, it is that simple. Most of us that overclock know it won't last, but we also upgrade before anything bad happens. In addition, having a warranty with EVGA means we are covered in case of failure to get a replacement. Unfortunately, the cheapest cards usually don't come with the best warranties as most overclockers can afford more.
But FWIW, it is better to learn overclocking on something you can afford to replace as opposed to something much more expensive that will take a while to save up and replace.
As for maximum overclock, different for every GPU as mentioned, you can get none or as much as 25% extra-- anywhere in between is possible for you. We just aren't guaranteed any particular overclock, we pay for stock afterall.
