As the title say.. i am planning to buy an internal SSD for my computer MOBO is 790i Ultra SLI.. i dont want to have problems that's why im here asking if its compatible for my computer..
what are the best SSD out there and why?? will it work for my computer without problems??

I have read some post in these forums that the intel SSD have problems with nforce boards.
I use on my 780i board 2 samsung 830 SSD with no problems.
I think that the samsung 840 serie is a good SSD and it will run on your system.

A Corsair P128 and a Corsair Force GT 120 both worked fine with my 790i. You might try the Jmicron AHCI controller for a little bit more speed, if doing a clean install of Windows 7. Read this link: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1831510

I've had a Intel X25-M, OCZ Agility 3, and SanDisk Ultra work just fine on a 680i motherboard, which doesn't even support AHCI.

i have an intel x-25m and ocz agility 4 with no issues on a 790i ftw (non digital board)
intel i7-970 cpu hex core o/c running at 4.1Ghz stable,Asus rampage iii extreme m/b with swiftech cpu block and full board koolance block,24 gig dominator gt ram CMT12GX3M3A2000C9, corsair ram waterblocks, MTEC chilled case by Coolit Systems, 2 evga 660gtx SC o2g-p4-2662 KR in sli, 2 ST310003 1TB drives for storage, ST350063 500gig for Alldata and Mitchell, ocz vector 150 240gig ssd, LG Blu-ray burner, thermaltake 1200 watt p/s' samsung syncmaster 2243bwx monitor, ST2000DL 2TB storage and work drive.

I using 3 OCZ SSD and HHD for back up! I use Nforce 15.58 to support tirm! nforce don't have ACHI but I use RAID Stripe on OCZ SSD for windows on C: Other SSD don't use Raid. I have no issue with SSD for ermm guess from now 5 months! I recommended get OCZ SSD are good speed and use nforce software 15.58 which gave me very good speed here result so have a look below :- Drive OCZ Agility 3 240g SSD C: Speed Drive OCZ Agility 3 120g SSD D: Speed Drive OCZ Agility 2 60g SSD E: Speed Western Digtal HHD 500g F: Speed Hd is very slow but it useful for back up games, films, photos and datas! This Because I alway trust HHD won't happen crash wipe out!!!! I use OCZTool to setting OZC SATA linkspeed set change to 3gb SATA from 6gb SATA because my motherboard only support 3gb SATA and then SSD Tool wiper and then update firmware to SSD in Boot up CD Ocz toolbox before to install windows! I setting up RAID for C drive in stripe. Carry on normal install windows so after windows complete install clean then I need install nForce 15.8 software to update new version then restart window and i need disable superfetch defragger superboost etc because these cause SSD slow down speed. I checked if my SSD Value dada to 0 in regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci It already set to 0. I have no problem with OCZ SSD so far very good keep up speed! I have try use Mircosoft controller software but gave me poor performance speed to average 150 mb/s read and 140 mb/s write. So I stick with Nforce 15.58 is good and never have any crash or freeze for 5 months so far!! I haven't try Jmicron AHCI controller too risk for my motherboard because I have zero problem wwih Nforce 15.58 so I better leave and happy!! Good Luck

If newegg is an option i would go with a Revodrive, they will work fine with minimum of bios P09, and wont be held back by the Sata 3gb/s. If you plan to upgrade to a new board soon with native sata 6gb/s then a Vertex 4 or Samsung 840 would be better.

I am using a SSD, and it really improved my performance. Yes, it only runs at the Sata 3, but it just performs great. OCZ Vertex 4 is a good product.
