Western Digital is introducing a high performance low cost NVMe drive that is only 450 dollars for a 1TB size. Capacities of 250GB ($119.99 USD), 500GB ($229.99 USD) and 1TB ($449.99 USD). I believe this is good value for money and I really hope to one day see a 1TB NVMe under 400 dollars.

How long has the Samsung 960 Pro and Evo been out? WD is only just now attempting to compete? Too little too late.

It’s never to little to late. I remember when everyone bought 3dfx graphics cards and a lot of games ran using Glide. They really dominated the market for about four years then other cards started to really become major players in the market.

These are pretty nice, especially the write speeds. The more competition the better.

I like the WD black series, have always had good luck with them. Plus the warranty is a bit longer usually.

those are some nice speeds but i wonder if they are sustained speeds or just that for so long then slows down, kinda like the samsung evo compared to the pro.

The Black 500GB version is very price competitive compared to the 960 Pro 512GB.

WD is playing the part of AMD in this drama. A year+ late to market. Just in time for Nvidia Samsung to come out with something that obsoletes the 960-series.

    229 for 500gb? That's awesome! I'm tired of $300+ Samsung models!
