So you have an Xbox 360. Well you’re playing and then the big RROD shows up. Well I have an idea that might help keep that from happening. Yes most will say that this is kind of over kill but I wanted to make sure the RROD does not come back. Yes I could have spent my money on a new one but what is the point you just keep throwing away money when this happens. So I put this together hope you like it.

What you will need:

  1. RROD Xbox 360- worthless right now.
  2. Lian Li  XB-01 Xbox 360 case – 119.99 x 1
  3. XSPC Xbox 360 CPU/GPU Water block- 42.95 x 1
  4. Swiftech MCP655 12v DC Pump - with Speed Controller- 76.95 x 1
  5. Swiftech MCR120-QP Quiet   Power 120mm - Black MCR120-30.95 x 1
  6. Bitspower G1/4 True Silver 1/2in Fitting BP-SLWP-C01    3.25 x 4
  7. Bitspower Shining Silver Rotary 45 G 1/4 Threads # BP-45-R 9.95 x 3
  8. Bitspower 1/2in. Compression Fittings for 3/4in. BP-CPF-CC5 5.95 x 2
  9. Bitspower Silver Shining Rotary 90-Degree G1/4 Adapter - BP-90R- 9.95 x 2
  10. Bitspower Water Tank Z - POM Version 39.99 x 1
  11. Enzotech BCC9 / BMR-C1L  Low Profile Forged Copper-12.50 x 8
  12. Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound- 26.95 x1

[size=5 font="times new roman"]This is what the XB-01 case looks like:

[size=5 font="times new roman"]Now for the work:
As most of you have already seen how to take apart an Xbox and I am not going to go threw all that for you but if you do this mod the XB-01 Case comes with a book on how to take it apart.

What she looks like taken apart all the way and cleaned up as well.

You may ask, how are you going to power the pump? Well here is how I am. I am going to add a 4 pin Molex connector to the Xbox and then I will have power for the pump, fans, and lights once I get some. If you have questions just pm me before doing this.

[size=3 font="times new roman"]
Now for the block so much copper:
[size=3 font="times new roman"]

Now I did have to Mod the case a little to get the pump wire behind the MB tray but here is what it looks like. I needed to cut just the corners out of the bottom of the tray.

Time for putting ever thing in:

Now for the test:
Taking an Xbox 360 from the death to live another day. Could not ask for anything better. Time for some MW2 come get some.

thank you i spent like 12 hours getting it put together yesterday. and the reason it took so long is becasue i am not that good at soldering. but getting better hahah. i hope this helps some of you out there with your issue. its not all dead and gone. i got this xbox for my office. and bought it RROD just to do this mod. and its been holding strong 8+ hours tested on it.

yeah i am using the fan from the lian li case for the rad. and the block is the only thing that i had to replace on the xbox. the pump turns on when the xbox turns on as well. i just wished i had got a temp sen. for it to see what the temps were on the gpu and the cpu.

Nice build, one thing I've always heard is, that if you start running other things off the xbox, that can that get you banned, is it true? Also, is that first picture of your xbox, is that the modern warfare 2 version, or is it something you did yourself? Because that's an awesome color/finish in my mind.

well yeah you can but that is if your using some kinda mod chip. but i am not. i just taped into the power to run the pump and leds once they come in.

as far as the color its just the regular elite 120. so but yeah i like it. i just wished i had more time for some other things i wanted to do with it.

yeah i was not happy with the way they did that. but its in one of the pics with the case its self, its just a little hard drive slot that you have to take apart the hard drive to put it in there.

so i think i might try to find and extender cable to mod the hard drive to be hot swapable.

hahah i found it i had save it a while back and just found another time. so here is the link. but i will say and warn that if your xbox psu is not 200 and above then this might cause issues down the road. so keep that it in mind. but  here it is http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=613160

post if you want what you have done as a mod as well to your xbox in pics and lets see if it is something that i might try.
i am still looking for the mod to make the hard drive longer so that i can use any hard drive with out modding it, out side the case.
now if you can post it or link that i will try it if i can and or if i think i will work.

awesome soldering job there bubba, next time maybe some flux will help out?

But otherwise neat build, I did my old 360 liquid cooled in the original case with a dual 120mm rad mounted outside.

I got a question for you on this water cooling build. I have heard around that the wireless range is drastically reduced since the case is metal and it interferes with with RF signal. have you notice this at all with this build. If not I have 2 Xbox 360 at home with RROD and this is going to be my next project.

Thanks,

Eric

Can it run Crysis?

i really have not tested that that much but most your normal ops will be done with the xbox controler for at least me. but as far as i have tested i have not had any issue just yet so i would have to say no for now. but will test more later on.

haha not sure.

but i think what i will have to do is get a xbox that is really messed up and take the hard drive port off the board and then extend it with wire to the top or some where on the case so i can get the hard drive to work the way i want but just need the xbox to find to do that with. ahha. well it will be a min before i get that done.

now on to the next project.
