Hello,
I have purchased the151-IB-E699-KR motherboard and I was wondering about vt-d support. I think the z77 chipset supports vt-d but can you enable it in the BIOS of this motherboard?

Thanks,
KM

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I will be using a Xeon 1230v2 Ivy Bridge, although I am holding off on purchasing the processor until I know I will have the features I need.

    Thanks,
    KM

VT-d support is primarily dependent on the CPU, the Xeon 1230v2 does indeed support VT-d.
You can see Intel's spec sheet here

Yes, vt-d was one of the primary reasons for choosing the processor in addition to hyper-threading. I will be using this motherboard for an ESXi whitebox build and vt-d will be used to pass various devices to a number of virtual machines. I'm glad this board will suit that need.

    Thanks,

I've been searching and I cannot find anywhere that says that z77 ftw supports vt-d. I understand the the CPU must support it as well but some motherboards, like ASUS, do not have vt-d (Pass-through/Direct I/O). Does anyone know if z77 FTW has vt-d?

I had this same question so I asked EVGA support and they told me that the board will support VT-d if the processor does but it will not support ECC. Intel is tricky about what processors support VT-d.

Thanks man. It's the non-K versions that support it. Like i7 3770 supports vt-d.

Yes. The K versions do not support Vt-d. If you are looking at an i7 series processor you should check out a Xeon 1230v2 or 1235v2 if you need IGP. The 1230v2 is cheap and has Vt-d, ECC, and HT support.
