I Dropped off my 2070 s at UPS yesterday morning, for a Saturday delivery. It’s crazy how hard it is to resist paying a hundred extra dollars to speed up the process. My wife caught me.

Love to hear that she saved you for that. I'd rather wait the extra week than drop a couple hundred more just for it to come quicker. I shipped my 2070 super via priority mail and it got there in 2 days. EVGA shipped out the new card the same day they received my old one, and it's expected to come next Tuesday b/c its ground. Regardless, I'm excited. Good luck!

Wouldn't have done you any good anyway. They received mine today and the estimated shipping date is 3/30... I'd be upset if I paid for next day air only to find out they don't actually have a card for me in stock yet and I have to wait 5+ days before they ship my 3080 out.

That's so funny. glad to see there is progress in the step up for the 3080. I was in this line but changed it to the 3090 because movement was so bad. Good to see the movement for you guys.

I was close to doing the same thing. Happy I exercised some self restraint. Looks to get here 3/29. A little under 2 weeks is not a long wait after 6 months of being in the queue...

I'd say good enough if your monitor resolution/refresh rate is able to take advantage of it. Even going from a 1080Ti (similar to 2070S/2080) to a 3070 was a good jump in performance for 3840x1600 144hz. With a 3080, I'd expect to be able to reach 140+ FPS more consistently.

Agreed. My trusty Nitro+ Vega 56 was overmatched at my settings (3840x1200 @144) and relied on free sync to keep it smooth in the 40 to 50 FPS range. The 2070 S was good for the same settings at 60-65, with ray tracing off. I bought the 3080 to give me max settings at 90+ FPS, and maintain 60FPS with RT enabled.
I reckon I should be happy with this card for 3 solid years, and the enjoyment and not taking 60 minutes per title of benchmarking to find the sweet spot will have been well worth the expense. The only question now is if I stay ultrawide, or give this monitor to my wife and go for something in the 43“ 4K 16:9 range. It’s all gravy until you’re trying to stream to a non ultrawide display in another room 😭

I did a TV this time around. LG nanocell that does 4k @ 120hz working good on the xbox series X and my 3070

Yeah… not gon’ be me, lol. I feel like selling now will make me part of the problem, as well as leave me cardless. I did my time, waited patiently, closing my eyes and ears to this GPU hellscape for at least a month.

My step 2 finally hit!
I'm going to ask the stupid question, the answer to which is definitely no, but can I just buy the 3080 directly and not turn in my 2080 Super? Built my girlfriend her PC and she could really use a 2080 over her RX 480.

That's going to be a hard no, man. Also, I'm going to guess that a lot of people have jumped out from the queue since the wait was too long. We're seeing massive jumps in the front page list and are already onto the 4th day of signups.
