Yes. Step 3 is where you make payment (within 7 days of Notification). Once Payment has been processed, you will receive another Email with your RMA Number and instructions on where to send your card. CONGRATS!! Your are almost there!!

Ok guess I'm just shocked as this happened within' a couple of months it almost feels like. I thought this was going to take like a year. This had been the card I wanted, next up getting the water cooling kit so I can put it in a mITX setup. If I buy a longer warranty does it apply to the step up card too? Just curious.

Ah damn. I was hoping to do a step up for a second card (3070ti to 3080) but, while I did get the step two, EVGA declined it due to the "one (1) part number, per person, per household" clause. Oh well, my brother will make due with the 3070ti. Still a great card, if overpriced.

Both original and the extended warranty will start fresh from the start since you are actually buying a new card not just exchanging the cards

This partially correct. The extended warranty will transfer to the new card, but that warranty clock starts on purchase date of the original card. If you did not purchase an extended warranty, then the warranty is a full three years on the new card.

I think the best way to explain the situation is that an Extended Warranty adds X number of years to your current warranty. Once your current warranty expires, the Extended Warranty begins to be used. When doing a Step-Up, you really can't use up your original warranty (or, at least, let's hope you don't wait for 3+ years in queue), so the extended warranty will transfer to your new Step-Up card in full. Of course, that might just be the programming handling it that way, but this is what would be reflected on your account.

It's normal on shipping. FAQ from https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/ "How long does it take EVGA to ship out my new product once they receive my old one? All RMAs, even Step-Ups, will be processed within 1-3 business days. From the day we receive your old product, we will process and ship out your new Step-Up product within three business days. If there are any problems with your shipment (No RMA number, no serial number sticker, damage, etc.), this will may delay the processing time."

I have calculated back from the remaining warranty shown on my step-up with extended warranty and the remaining time shown backs me up to the purchase date of my 3070Ti. It is not showing a new extended warranty from the purchase date of my 3080 step-up... Product page for my 3080 (it's in transit, but they registered it for me) - 1,660 days remaining on 5-year warranty, so 4.55 years remaining - That means warranty has already been consumed to the tune of 0.45 years, or 5.4 months. - This means warranty on step-up 3080 started in late June 2021, when I originally purchased the 3070Ti. A new 5 year warranty would be ~1,825 days remaining. If it should be new and fully reset, then we have a problem.

The five year warranty is only 2 extra years and the 10 year warranty is 7 extra years + the original 3 It would not make any sense that and extended warranty starts before the original. Extended means it starts when the original one is over The Step-up is a new purchase and not a trade-in and the warranty starts a new. So if your seeing something else I would contact EVGA and see what they say. And please let us know. I try not to give bad information.

Yeah, it's definitely shorter than that. I was surprised when calculating the days used to find that it was tied to the original card purchase date. Was originally going to let it go, assuming that was just the way it is... until this thread. Will report back once I get an answer.

So, just wondering If I could step up now since the 3080ftw3 just became available today ? dec 19 ? thanks , and hoping I can step up to the 3080ftw3 ... ps I posted in post #3586 above. joe EVGATech_DanielM
joseph305 was going to do a step up from my 3070ti ftw to 3080 ftw ultra in north america but it's not available now! Maybe the 3080 ftw is missing temporarily and will be back available in a day or so ? I have only until dec 8 to step up also..
3080 was removed due to stock demands. We do not have a ETA of when it will be available back on Step Up. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

It doesn't hurt to ask but the rules are strict with step-up. Also, did you notice the part number for the 3080 FTW3 is 10G-P5-3897- RL? This is a b-stock part number. I sent a mail to get clarification on this because I submitted a step-up from a 3070 XC3 Ultra w/ 10 year warranty. I can't see how they can offer a b-stock product for step-up, and transfer an extended warranty considering b-stock items only are warrantied for 1 year. I am hoping the wrong part number was linked in the step-up page, and the actual part number is 10G-P5-3897- KL

joseph305 Well, I noticed that the 3080ftw3 is available for stepup now ! when I tried to step up 3 weeks ago it wasn't available and was gone from step up for 3 weeks. My 90 days is expired now. I don't think it's fair that I couldn't use my step up within my 90day windows because the 3080ftw3 was unavailable. So, just wondering If I could step up now since the 3080ftw3 just became available today ? dec 19 ? thanks , and hoping I can step up to the 3080ftw3 ... ps I posted in post #3586 above. joe In my experience, the 90 days is a hard limit for step-up with no exceptions. It doesn't hurt to ask but the rules are strict with step-up. Also, did you notice the part number for the 3080 FTW3 is 10G-P5-3897-RL? This is a b-stock part number. I sent a mail to get clarification on this because I submitted a step-up from a 3070 XC3 Ultra w/ 10 year warranty. I can't see how they can offer a b-stock product for step-up, and transfer an extended warranty considering b-stock items only are warrantied for 1 year. I am hoping the wrong part number was linked in the step-up page, and the actual part number is 10G-P5-3897-KL
Interesting, jumping into the thread here to know that I had just got into step 1/5 to take advantage and noticed this is also the "new part number" i got, it ended in RL rather than KL... that kind of gives me pause, I was expecting to receive a brand new 3080 FTW3 Ultra several months from now but if it's refurbished, is it worth it? I know it'll be a pretty big performance jump over my 3060ti ftw ultra but at least i knew this card was brand spanking new, and paying full msrp for a refurbished card seems kind of... silly? I know the market is nuts but I have a perfectly good card so now I feel like I started getting excited to be let down again. Side question, if I were to wait until i got the new card to buy a 10 year warranty, is that doable, or do I need to buy the warranty now? (I'm still within my first 90 days of my 3060ti)

The warranty of a 30 series b-stock card (part number ending in " -RL") is 1 year. I can't justify losing 1 year, 9 months of warranty and paying 98% retail for a refurbished card even if it is "better"... but that is me... mattevgaaccount Side question, if I were to wait until i got the new card to buy a 10 year warranty, is that doable, or do I need to buy the warranty now? Based on the step-up terms, EVGA transfer the extended warranty to the "step-up" card. Buy now or later (assuming they let you), and 10 years is going to far cover the life of the card. Another reason I question how the step-up card can be b-stock refurbished. Are they are going to honor up to a 10 year warranty on a card they normally only provide a 1 year warranty? EVGA also doesn't offer extended warranties on b-stock products for a reason. None if it adds up to the current terms of step-up. Hopefully the part number is incorrect, and it is the "-KL" SKU for step up. I am certainly going to cancel my step up if my 10 year warranty doesn't transfer to the 3080 FTW3.
