I am running 2 EVGA GTX275's is SLI on a EVGA 780i FTW board. I would like to have a total of 3 x 24" monitors in order to play my flight similator games or Arma2 properly with my new Tracker IR setup. Baiscly with 3 monitors together I want it to act as one big wide screen.

I am told that I need a TRIPLEHEAD2GO device from Matrox, which is $300.00. My question is, can i do this without the TRIPLEHEAD2GO device by using my 2 video cards in SLI? After all, I do have a total of 4 DVI outputs between the 2 cards. If it works, it may only give me 3 individual monitors instead of combining all 3 monitors into 1 big wide monitor. 

Apperantly this TRIPLEHEAD2GO device tricks the video card into thinking that you only have 1 really big wide screen monitor. But cant I do this without the $300.00 TRIPLEHEAD2GO device?. If not, maybe I need 3 video cards in SLI for it to work. I mean if I am going to spend $300.00, i would rather spend it on a 3rd video card, if its possiable to do with 3 cards that is. I dont know, please help.

There is a program named softTH which can do some of these functions in software, afaik it is slower than a triplehead 2 go.  Also, the screens in the TH2G need to support a wierd refresh, so make sure your monitor is on thier compatibility list.

i am in the process of getting  a 5970 card . i sold both my gtx 295 and my th20go. my main plan is to use the 5970 with my three monitors and then i am going to get a gtx 250 for my physics , all in all it will a little more stable i think . also i ll be running win 7 when i get my card .!
