AMD is sucking it up again, thanks for causing mid rang parts costing $499.99 $549.99........ If your next gen card is not equal to two times your current gen your spinning your wheels.

AMD fans are in euphoria... Now in their minds they probably promise and revenge to the Intel. We only can wait lower process if NVIDIA want to hurry. But they will hurry when GM200 price drop and when most people delay upgrade on 20-16nm and stacked RAM. From one side that's similar as DDR3- DDR4 only here improvements is much bigger. Or GDDR3 - GDDR5?

??? I thought it was Nvidia that decided to rebrand mid range chips as top tier ones. Then again perhaps my history is fuzzy.

They've both done it.

Both have done it before, but I think what he means is that AMD doesn't release chips fast enough/more often to push Nvidia to release top tier products all the time.

But now they will push NVIDIA. Something happen with NVIDIA transfer on 20nm, they must delay that but we don't know why. I have no problem to wait GM210 in 20nm if that card will be stronger than AMD. Better than during gaming to think on lower fps than on Bermuda XT. AMD is not option, even if PhysX is not main reason why I choose NVIDIA I would like to keep that function. Somehow without that option like graphic chip is not complete, like something miss...

Tropickz Whaaatttttt The details on the cards are from a poster on Chiphell. I just don't know Chinese(?) Maybe rumor.. proceed with caution http://www.tweaktown.com/news/42032/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-ii-vs-amd-radeon-r9-390x-leaked-benchmarks/index.html
I really hope it's not true. I was hoping AMD would be bringing power consumption down to under 200 watts.
I would rather them use the PCI-E standard max of 300 up to what ever they feel they want to. Including if that means a 300 watt card. I want them to run all out, not artificially hold themselves back just to be a bit cooler. Lower end cards? Sure, dial them bad boys back. But top tier cards should not be concerned unless they are gonna peak over 300 watts without overclocking.

Im not talking about rebranding old tech into a new series, yes both sides do that. I mean taking what was obviously meant to be the 660 (Gxx04) and artificially promoting it to 680 (was always Gxx00) so that they can create an above top tier price for the Gxx00. To my knowledge Amd never did that with their chips. If so I sure would like to hear about it.

Oh I don't care about heat, that can be taken care of with water. I'm talking about the power the card itself pulls. The 78ti was +/- on per with the 290x and sucked a lot less power didn't it?

Somehow I would like to NVIDIA launch better card than Radeon, if she need 300W never mind.

If the 980ti requires 300W for only 5-10% more power than AMD, then I will be looking for an AMD card, or staying with 980. The days of processing power no matter the consumtion of electricity are slowly dieing for me and maybe other too. I grow jealous of those who run [link=mailto:F@H]F@H[/link] 24/7 and have low electric bills.

If AMD need 200W and NVIDIA 300W for 10% more performance I would not even think to miss that GeForce. Important is one step up, little never mind, important is one step up.

your over thinking it though, if AMD isn't ready to roll why would Nvidia not make a profit. You do know they are in this to make money and the higher the margins the more money they make. Also the GK110 was not ready when GK104 was, same as the GM200 isn't ready but the GM204 was. If your that upset about it, just buy a 200 dollar chip and live with it. You pay for performance not model numbers.

I can't wait to our NVIDIA and AMD present their new cards. I would like to try GM200 but immediately to sell when GM210 reference show up and than upgrade on GM210 Classy or I'm ready even to pay 50-60$ more than Classy for ULTRA Classified with 50-60MHz higher clock. We will see, some rumors say summer, some spring,...
