The one sound card design that doesn't seem to exist is leaving a lot of customers on the table.  It's been years I've been waiting and still nothing.  What I want is a sound card with an HDMI port!  How many PC gamers are still using analog speakers?  I believe the direction PC gaming is going is into the living room, with a big screen TV and a home theater receiver running on HDMI.  With the introduction of televisions with variable refresh rate, G Sync or Free Sync, I have been unable to use my receiver as a pass through for audio with HDMI. If I pass through my receiver, I lose the ability to enable G Sync.  My TV has an optical audio output, but it's limited to 5.1.  I spent a lot of money to build an Atmos audio system, now I am limited to either running G Sync or Atmos/7.1 +, and other audio formats, but not both.
I believe a sound card with an HDMI port, that supports all the latest formats, would be a product that would sell extremely well.

Cant you just run two HDMI cables from the GPU? One to the primary display with G-Sync enabled. The 2nd directly to the receiver for audio.

Possibly, I have seen this work before, but it’s not always reliable. Especially when turning SLI on and off. Of course if someone else has experience doing this and can offer some suggestions, I’d be willing to try it out.
Still, I’ve been wanting a sound card with HDMI for a long time either way

    What TV do you have?

For the longest time G-Sync has been known to only be supported over Display Port exclusively.

I have an LG OLED C9
But it turns out using e-ARC I can finally get a 7.1 digital signal from my graphics card, to my tv and then to the receiver. Dolby Atmos is buggy and cuts out, does work sometimes, but it’s been like 2 years and it’s still buggy without going directly to the receiver first. Can’t do that or G Sync won’t work.
