So the 860 series is coming soon based on the 10nm die shrink. Samsung is very confident with their 860 series as the standard warranty will be 5 years.

Is the cost set to be on par with the 850evo? I don't see them up on the samsung site yet.

Cool, the 960 series M.2 is prices pretty good in my opinion.
I hope these follow as they are very popular now in 3.5” format.

    Storage is still expensive investments.
I didn't want to buy less than 1TB SATA III SSD and I don't want to buy less than 1TB M.2.
And 2TB WD Black 2003FZEX for storage.

I'm home user and I don't have enough for 2TB-4TB M.2, SSD SATA III or PCI-E SSD, but at least 1TB.
Somehow 1TB EVO models are better than 512GB Pro models. I would bought PRO 1TB, but they are more expensive.
850 PRO was 170 euro more than 850 EVO 1TB when I bought on discounts.

I get that perspective. But I guess we’re in a place where mass storage is going to be dominated by Western digital mechanical drives (and they’re pretty quick considering there physical limitations) and quick OS operations will be used on smaller flash drives like m.2 and SSD unless you have a load of cash to spend on solid state drives.

I like ssd storage since i have gbits internet, the ssd's allow me to always get 850-910 mbits off high seeded torrents :) I think the day of internal mechanical storage has come to an end since you have 2 types of ssd's and external mechanical drives that make it easier to mount both cpu and gpu radiators in your case.
