Anyways, the 790i does not support true AHCI. If you want TRIM via the OS without manual intervention, the only option you currently have is to run the controller in IDE mode and use the MS IDE drivers. This will only change if future nVidia SATA AHCI drivers start to pass the TRIM command along. And who knows about that.
As for the JMicron, traditionally they are shoddy controllers and you would be better off sticking with the nVidia controller. I am going to go out on a limb and say that is still the case because I dont think JMicron's drivers pass the TRIM command either. My suggestion, TRIM is probably more important than NCQ at this time so I would use the Microsoft IDE driver.
