SSD on Nforce 790i SLI Ultra: AHCI or IDE?

Hello!
 
I have the Nforce 790u SLI Ultra Mainboard. I tried to run my SSD in AHCI-Mode but it seems, that my Board doesn`t support this mode. So someone told me, that i should try to run it in RAID-Mode (Jbod) because this would use the features of AHCI. Is this true? I tried to change settings in Bios to RAID-Mode. But when I pressed F10 for RAID-Config-Menue on startup, I found nothing about JBOD. Can you please help me?
 
The next thing I want to know is, if the ASUS U3S6 PCIe-Card is working on my mainboard. This seems to be the only way to use my SSD in AHCI-Mode for using NCQ AND TRIM. With the nvstor64.sys driver NCQ is working but TRIM is not, with the MS-PCI-IDE driver TRIM is working but NCQ isn't. Is there a way to use both features?
Is it possible to use the JMicron-AHCI-Mode for my SSD? Is the JMicron Controller a fast controller or should I use IDE-Mode in future?

For everybody who is searching the web for an answer:
IT IS POSSIBLE to run AHCI-mode on an Nforce 790i SLI ULTRA mainboard! The sata port which supports AHCI is the red one (very close to the grafics card port). To become the system booting on this port you have to chose "boot other device" from the "advanced bios settings" menue! This port runs with the standard AHCI driver included in WIN 7. Unfortunately the jmicron controller is not very fast for sequentiell reading. But this option increases my results in 4K-tests more than 100%! I hope I could help you!

    Anyways, the 790i does not support true AHCI.  If you want TRIM via the OS without manual intervention, the only option you currently have is to run the controller in IDE mode and use the MS IDE drivers.  This will only change if future nVidia SATA AHCI drivers start to pass the TRIM command along.  And who knows about that.

    As for the JMicron, traditionally they are shoddy controllers and you would be better off sticking with the nVidia controller.  I am going to go out on a limb and say that is still the case because I dont think JMicron's drivers pass the TRIM command either.  My suggestion, TRIM is probably more important than NCQ at this time so I would use the Microsoft IDE driver.

    Hello!

    Yes, I speak German! Ja, ich spreche deutsch. Wäre mir sogar lieber! :-)

    I already managed it to run my system with the Microsoft standard PCI-IDE driver. I also did some benchmarks in IDE and AHCI mode. In IDE mode sequentiell reading was better but in AHCI mode the 4K-test was better. I dont really know, which mode I should use now. Its true, its not sure if the Jmicron controller lets pass the trim command. I even bought a sataII controller card just for testing. It seems that the card is supporting NCQ but I have to install a speciall driver which probably is not able to send the Trim command. I heard that only the Microsoft driver is able to manage the trim command.

    The only controllers I know of that currently support passing of the TRIM command in AHCI or RAID mode are Intel controllers.  I suggest, if you want TRIM, run the Microsoft IDE driver.
