Today I built a new system with this GPU, including:
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- MSI Tomahawk Max motherboard
- Enermax Galaxy 850W PSU (EGX850EWL)
- G.SKILL Trident Z 32GB RAM (2 x 16GB) (F4-3200C16D-32GTZ)
I have installed Windows 10 and Nvidia 445.75 GeForce 20-series drivers. It's a brand new build. The operating system is installed on an M.2 NVME module (Western Digital 512GB).
I am running the Unigine Superposition benchmark at 1080p "medium", to a 1080p monitor connected via HDMI. The benchmark score is less than
2200, but comparison with similar systems suggests it should be around 18,000 to 20,000.
I am getting around 16 frames per second average, max around 20. See result image attached.
I ran GPU-Z to monitor GPU sensors during the benchmark. See image attached. What I find strange about this is that the GPU temperatures don't increase, nor do the fans operate, even though the GPU load is at 100%.
This performance is well below what I'd expect.
I have reinstalled the Nvidia drivers after removing them with DDU, which I did in Safe Mode with no internet connection.
I'm really not sure what to do next. Something is clearly not working correctly.
