The recommended drive is the Panasonic UJ8C5 Slot Load drive.

You will also be able to buy it directly from EVGA.com very shortly.

EVGA designs a case and only tests one slot load drive...
Guess slim drives cost too much for them to test and give customers other options. (like ones Newegg and other stores stock)

Looks like EVGA leaving it up to customers to find that info on their own.

They didn't make it easy, but I believe I've found a blu-ray drive that will work.
    Panasonic UJ-265A drive - $130 on Digistor.

That's a reasonable price ($39.95), especially with the custom cable included!!

I agree. I will definitely pick one of these up for my Hadron Hydro build.

I can just about guarantee they won't. I haven't seen an ultraslim Blu-Ray player before, and even if there was I don't think it would match the exact dimensions of the specific Panasonic one they are selling.

Digistor has the Panasonic PAN-UJ-265 Blue Ray Slot Load Burner for $129 plus shipping. The great thing is the dimensions are the same as the PAN-UJ-8C5 Slot Load DVD Burner (12.7 (H) x 128 (W) x 129(D) mm)

Oh wow! Nice to know they exist! I don't know how I'd feel buying a $140 disk drive for a $180 case though.

Sony has a slim slot loading blu-ray drive that will work but is currently discontiued, if you're lucky you may find a few vendors that still have them in stock. This is what I'm currently using in my Hadron Air.

I use to have a Pioneer DVD 106s Slot Load drive back in the day, it was so cool watching it go in and out, instead of the standard optical drive door type lol

Regarding eject button alignment, I can confirm that the button's on the wrong side of the PAN-UJ-265 (I have that drive).

It seems that the eject button on the BC-5650H-01 (a Sony Optiarc model; Optiarc was mentioned earlier in this thread but no specific model was identified) is more appropriately positioned (i.e. ~2.75 inches 'in' from the top of the drive 'lip', that being the half-width strip of the drive).
