Hey guys I have a quick question about what size SLI bridge I would need for my 980's on my Z97 board and figure I would ask here seen as I might buy an EVGA bridge.

I'm looking at this one -
And this is my board -

Obviously I'm using both red slots for SLI. I saw that there wasn't an actual EVGA bridge that supports that spacing gap? I just wanted to make sure before I bought it. Also using EK blocks and terminal..

I know it's a stupid question lol.. thanks!

A 60mm 2-Way Long bridge is what you need..The 100-2W-0023-LR would be the one.

Just to clarify for you more..The industry standard single-slot distance between PCI/PCIe slots is 20mm (20.32mm to be exact) as specified by PCI-SIG..Single-slot empty spaces in between count as one 20mm slot distance (double-slot distance of 40mm)..You have:

Distance from the top PCIe x16 red slot to the next PCIe x1 slot = 40mm (the empty space in between counts as if a slot would/could go there)

Distance from that PCIe x1 slot to the second PCIe x16 red slot = 20mm.

    Every 20mm is counted as a slot space..Total distance between your PCIe x16 red slots: 40mm + 20mm, or 20mm + 20mm + 20mm = 60mm.

Ok thanks! I had a chart that listed pretty much every board PCI-E slot spacing distance but lost it and just wanted to double check before I bought another bridge. I think on another forum somebody said it was a 40mm gap which didn't seem quite right. Hopefully a new bridge will fix my SLI issue..

Slot spacing/distance is industry standard as described and depicted in Post #5..Don't worry, a 2-way long (60mm) bridge will hook you up for 2-way SLI on your board and as also confirmed by Toyking.

Yep it works, took a second boot to get the bridge to actually recognize the cards but it works. And it lights up!

came today fit perfectly just wish I did not have to install GeForce Experience to use the led light but all I did was disable all of it and just left led control active .Thanks bob16314
/EDIT really do not like GeForce Experience so I did a driver reinstall removing it and the led on the sli bridge is still on so I guess you do not need to install GeForce exp. for the led to work

Nope depending on the card it will power the bridge as is you just won't have control of it which isn't too big of a deal

You don't need GeForce Experience installed to control the lighting as far as I know. I used the 'LED Visualizer' inside the nVidia Folder to control the brightness on my MSI dragon logos. Try it and see if it works for the SLI bridge too.

yes so far the LED is working and the only thing I have installed is the graphics driver and PhysX(far as I know nothing about my system supports 3d and I do not have 3d glasses) I am going to dig around for the nvida folder and see if there is any chance the LED Visualizer is there though I think it is not

I know it's in there. I deleted it along with almost everything else I don't use because my MSI dragons are gone having been replaced with EK waterblocks.
