Here's a weird one. The physical right button on my trackpad cannot be mapped to right-click.
In the Synaptics driver, there are a ton of options. You can see under the Buttons panel, it lists THREE physical buttons.

As far as I can tell, the SC17 trackpad has only TWO physical buttons. But the real problem is that in the button configuration control panel, the right trackpad button points to the "Scroll Right Button Action." And you cannot configure the Scroll Right Button to do a right-click!
For example, I have set Scroll Right Button to do the Start Button. Again, right click IS NOT IN THIS LIST OF ACTIONS. (Thanks Synaptics.)

As you can see, in the main mouse button control panel, the right trackpad button is mapped to this "Scroll Right Button," whatever that is.

So... Any ideas on how to get the right mouse button doing a right mouse click?
I did try updating the Synaptics drivers and Windows said I had the latest version.
Edit to add: I tried deleting the drivers and letting Windows re-install whatever version it thought best. Didn't help. Then I installed the version from EVGA in case it was different.

Below is my driver version. If your right trackpad button works as expected, could you post your Synaptics driver version and date?

19.2.5.0

I don't have that particular issue, but you can try a slightly updated driver, 19.2.5.28

Where did you get that driver? It isn't on EVGA's support site, at least not under my SC17's part nuber... and Windows doesn't fetch it.

Under the 768-55-2633 model.....doubt it will help though, your issue is strange.  Did it work correctly before or this issue started recently?

Perhaps uninstall synaptics using revo uninstaller or ccleaner after to clean the registry entries....and try installing again but the new version of the SC17 1080.

Does the two finger tap work as right click button?

I haven't tried a DEEP clean with a tool, just the built-in stuff. That might be worth a try. Fortunately, I can right-click with the two-finger tap. I am not totally screwed, it's just inconvenient.
I did file a support ticket and pointed them to this thread since it's all laid out with screen shots. I'll post a followup when I have one. My part number is 768-41-2633, but I may try the newer driver available from part -55- if support's ideas are a bust.
Other than this issue and getting forced into doing a clean Windows install on day 1 of setup, I am loving this machine.
    Thanks guys!

Re: SC17 1070/Gsync: Synaptics touchpad configuration problem 2017/12/17 22:59:37 (permalink)
OK, I didn't wait for tech support, and got it fixed. I do not know why this worked, but it did.
I installed driver 19.2.5.28 from the other part number. This did NOT fix the problem, so I uninstalled and reinstalled driver 19.2.5.0 as specified for my model. Once that was done, it worked.

    Why? Who knows!

A couple of interesting things happened on the way.
With .28 uninstalled, the system fell back to whatever was built in to Windows. In this state, with no Synaptics software installed, the right button worked as expected. However, the feel of pointer motion sucked, so I decided to put the Synaptics software back on, even if it meant the RMB wouldn't work.
With .0 reinstalled, things finally worked as expected. The mysterious third button is not visible in the Synaptics control panel any more.
One more weird thing: after installing .28 and rebooting, the SC17 was unable to see my 5 GHz wifi network. Seems like they should not be connected, right? So I asked Windows to look for updated Intel wifi drivers via the device manager. It did find some, which are newer than provided by EVGA. They installed OK and my 5 GHz network became usable again.

That's Windows, I guess. But my lappy is now happy. Thanks @vistarshook, that other driver package did help!

Great that you resolved that issue.  The evga clickpad driver is not very good so I installed a windows precision driver over it, so far I feel it works a lot better with no issues yet.

What do you mean by "Precision Touchpad" driver?

At one point in my reinstall rodeo I had purged the Synaptics software and the touchpad was running with the built-in Windows 10 drivers. Touchpad feel sucked and if there were any cool gestures, I didn't see them in the control panel. Is there some other driver to get?

You can install the precision driver from lenovo (synaptics), works much better than the EVGA driver, in my opinion.

Thanks! I am going to stick with Synaptics since it is working to my satisfaction now, but if I run into another problem this is the first thing I am trying. I'm going to stash that file now...

I just had exactly the same issue and I have an idea what caused it.  The very first button option says Scroll Right Button Action and if you ever click or modify this section then it will break your right click button on the touchpad and it seems there is no good work around for it.  The suggestion to use the driver in this thread is the workaround for now (say yes when it says it is not compatible, it works fine):

EDIT: They will not allow me to post the link to the reddit thread above but that touchpad driver works great...

I am glad to hear I am not crazy. This was one of the weirdest little Windows things I had ever seen.

(I haven't messed with the touchpad settings and it is still working well for me so I haven't had to try the "precision" driver.)
