Bought in 2018, this laptop has been on about x50 flights in the last year alone.

Front of case started to open up, like a bag of microwave popcorn.
Sent pics to EVGA and opened a service ticket, waiting to hear back from them.
Has anyone dealt with this before?

    Yes, this is quite common.

Take the battery out before it causes more damage. You can use the laptop without the battery installed, using the AC power adapter.

Do NOT fly with that battery ever again. I am pretty sure it is against federal law to fly with a battery which you know to be damaged. Whether legal or not, it is unsafe.

My SC17 has had its battery removed for about a year due to this issue.

    Yikes!
Thankfully my SC17 hasn't done this yet, good thing to keep an eye on as these age.
