Hi EVGA friends,

I have a question.
I know the motherboard serial number is written on the PCB and on the box.

My question is - can this be retrieved via software?
For example, you can usually type 'wmic driskdrive get serialnumber' to get your HDDs serial number.

However, 'wmic baseboard get serialnumber' only retrieves 'Default string'
Wondering if this is usual for EVGA motherboards or if it is empty because I had to replace my BIOS chip.

If no EVGA employees are able to answer this, can anyone else with evga boards type 'wmic baseboard get serialnumber' into the cmd prompt and let me know what you get back.

Many thanks,

Not all manufacturers implement it in the firmware for software retrieval. "wmic baseboard get serialnumber" did return the serial number for my ASUS board.

Another option is to download AIDA64. Under "Computer" you want "DMI", then select "Motherboard". If it was implemented by EVGA it will show up under the serial number field.

EVGA does not put the serial numbers in the bios in any way.  It is only on the sticker on the motherboard and the box.
