Coming out in 2010

"It simply has the most impressive systems I’ve seen in an FPS: functional first-person cover, 64-man multiplayer on dedicated servers, nuanced damage modeling (there’s a bandaging system, “instant blackouts” if you get headshotted, but no magical, auto-regenerating health), realistic tank combat, and sniping mechanics"

I like the model damaging.  It looks like a lot of fun.  It doesnt seem to flow real well though.

I can't wait to see more gameplay videos, this is probably going to be the most realistic shooter developed thus far.

This looks great! I miss playing in 64 player servers. I hope Battlefield 3 brings that back.

Here are some videos I found. Some cool features but still don't think it looks that great. And I don't think this game will poo on COD. But that is all personal preference. But there will be more people playing COD then this game. My favorite feature is the scope system. Not really sure how it would really make a difference or how you would know how to adjust scope, maybe it is more of a visual feature. But the raised scope feature is awesome for close range.

    Like consoles

    Thanks for the videos Bowenac,
it really shows what Tripwire is doing in terms of delivering a realistic gaming experience and evolving the shooter genre, much like the first Red Orchestra.

Also I wonder if EVGA would like to have a 64 player server for this game?

I hate that we are going back to WWII. That said, this game looks KILLER!
I'm not big on sniping but that sniper video made me smile.
Can't wait to give this game a try.

How do you tell a good game developer from a bad one?

The good one prioritizes gameplay over graphics.

man I can't wait for this game. I still love WWII games. I think this game is going to do alot better than people expect. I rather have some awesome gameplay over better graphics so the look doesn't  really bother me. Maybe it will look better when we are actually playing it.

It's the Unreal3 engine, of course there will be high graphical settings. This game will support 64 player servers so they gotta put all that into account, no point in playing on extreme graphical quality in slide-show form lol

Weapons break/repair mechanic and Heroes system
Unloading an uninterrupted stream of shots with your machinegun in Red Orchestra 2 will overheat your barrel ... In RO2 a smoking MG barrel can be fully destroyed ... Axis soldier opened the feed cover of his weapon, slid the unusable barrel out, and pushed a new one into the weapon. Each machinegunner will have one backup barrel.

Now this is something vie never seen in a WW2 FPS.

Yeah they're even modeling projectile physics with the tank battles, as in if you place your tank at the proper angle, you'll have a better chance of the shell deflecting and doing less dmg.

I can't wait for this, the originals were pretty cool. I like that they go for the extreme realism I'm tired of giant waypoint markers and hit markers when I shoot someone and all the other hand-holding.
