Hi group,
As noted, received my new EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P2 today. Unfortunately after install, it won't power up my rig. My rig specs are in my sig.
Steps I've followed.
- installed the new EVGA PSU
- installed the new EVGA cables: MB, EPS/CPU, PCI/VGA
- I've unplugged all of the none essential USB devices, except for the USB keyboard and mouse
- When I attempt to power on, I see that I get power to my USB keyboard. Red key lights on the board come on
- after 4 or 5 seconds after the power on, I hear a "click" in the PSU, but nothing additional comes on....
- Whether I have ECO mode on or off, still the same issue...
- I've tried different wall power, still the same issue.....
- unseated, and re-seated all of the cables, still the same issue....
Prior to installing the new PSU, I did perform the power self test. I turned off the ECO mode, plugged the PSU into the wall power, and I could see the PSU fan spin. So from the self test mode, the PSU looked fine.
After all of the above,
I then punted and put the original Seasonic PSU back in. My rig powers up just fine with the old PSU... go figure.
For what it's worth. My Seasonic PSU does not have specific CPU/EPS connections. It just has 5x PCI/VGA connections. Whereas the EVGA has the 2x CPU/EPS motherboard connections, plus the 4x PCI/VGA. When I had the EVGA PSU installed, I did make sure to use the ESP cables into the PSU CPU plugs, and my GPU was using the PCI/VGA, but still no joy....
Not sure what else to do, other than return the EVGA PSU?
