I currently got a Asus Maximus Extreme V and I plan on running tri sli with it.  I also have a AX1200 corsair PSU
It says you must connect the EZ_Plug which is a 6 pin male power connector.
Problem #1 was the connector on the motherbaord was something called a PCI-e version 1 connector, while everything on the PSU was PCI-e version 2 connector.  Here is the difference and they will not mate up I already tried.

No one has a version 1 connector in the color I need (black).  I got lucky that my old HX1000 has a version 1 connector at one of the ends of the SATA power cables.
This normally would be a crisis mode thing but since I am making my own power connectors for this build it is not that bad.  I will simply steal the connector end off the HX1000 and make a custom cable that fits the AX1200.
My question to you guys, who are amazing at answering things, is where should that EZ Plug hook into on the back of the AX1200?

I think it hooks into the PCI-e but I just want to be sure before I start making the cable.  Thanks guys!

Yes, it should go in to the PCI-e power connectors on the PSU. EZ Plug does exactly the same thing as the supplemental PCI-e power on the EVGA Z77 FTW. It gives more juice to the PCI-e lanes, especially needed when you're running SLI.

Sweet you are a life saver!  I will just mimic the version 2 connectors that came with the AX1200 and wire it in like that.
