Definitely should have gone RKL (kidding lol).

Isn't it a pretty well known issue that the FCLK on those just doesn't like going past 1800 (and some not even that far)? If you can get 1800 to be stable, you're probably better off that most people.

He was already at 1900 for a long while with new memory kit that clocks 4000cl15 at 3800 cl14, moment he went into bios and restarted it stopped posting at that
This is his issue

I know...but sometimes it takes days before memory stability issues show up. Maybe the wind blew? I don't know lol. I just have read countless posts on various forums about people grumpy about not getting their fclk to or past 1800 on Ryzen CPUs so it seems that he is not alone.

Yeah I'm running 1900FCLK with 3800 CL14 again and it's happy as a clam.

I really don't get what the issue is, it's like it wakes up on the wrong side of the bed on some reboots. lol

Anyway, I'm probably going to test at like CL13 or CL12 3600/1800 soon and see if that's viable at 1.5V or so, doubtful but you never know.  For daily use, I don't think the difference between the two is worth the irritation with the present AGESA.

So far on the newer Beta BIOS, no issues since I got it to POST with the 3800 CL14 settings though.

The 2x16 kits are more expensive than my 4x8 kit was.  Not about to pay that much for such a small upgrade, I regret buying the kit I have now to be honest, should've went with a cheaper/lesser clocked 4x8 kit & been done with it.

What do you mean?
Is it not running 3800 cl14?

My brain hurts.

After literally almost 3 entire weeks of booting every time I powered it on with zero issues, booted the computer up when I got up & turned it on today, thinking it would go in to Windows no problem, I went to get some water & what not, came back, screen wasn't displaying, I look at the post code & it's stuck on d0 with the first light on... turn it off & back on, it F9s.  I do not understand at all.
It runs completely fine with no issues, no WHEA problems, no crashes, games run fine for hours at a time, zero hiccups what so ever, but it's still pulling this crap randomly.

For now I'm running at stock with 1800FCLK/3600RAM.  I'm not going to bother with the higher numbers again until I get around to another benchmarking session or something, especially since the boot issues are cropping up, again.

Try 3800 151515 30 and tighter secondary timings for a while

I don't think it's CL14 that's the problem, it's one of the other timings, I just don't have the patience to sit here & fiddle with each one until I figure out which one it is yet... especially since the problem literally comes & goes out of nowhere with no explanation.

I'm just running at CL14 3600 for now, whenever I get in the mood to really fiddle with it, I'll go back to 3800/1900 and see if it settles on posting again or not then go from there. It would be really nice if this board had an actual training function, but in my experience, the Retry button does not help with F9 training, and the board itself will only retry 3-4 times before it resets to defaults.

I hate when they happens. Spend all that time, energy and money on a rig and it throws random errors and just doesn't work. My gaming PC is my slowest booster even though it has an M.2 SSD and has the best CPU. Never could figure out why.

4.7 is stable at 1.35V for you?  Hoping I can get around the same, I haven't messed with it yet today because I was doing my weekly XP harvesting on mass CSGO accounts via Sandboxie (which resets Tuesday night/Wednesday morning but the servers were having issue yesterday).

I am tempted to check my mount/thermal tape but I think I got a pretty good mount based on my stock (non-PBO) all-core load is 52C for R20.  I know my mount on the 3900x was horrible though, look at this lol:

I made sure I put more paste on the 5950X than I did on that mount, and I also made sure I tightened all 4 things as much as you possibly can... probably tighter than they need to be, but the temps are decent.  Even with PBO I'm only getting in to the high 60sC load for R20.  I haven't done extended temp testing yet.

Would it be too crazy of a move for you to lap (sanding it down basically, see this link here, he stopped at 2500 grit but I'd go higher until it's a mirror) your IHS and Block? Some people are scared to do it (To be fair, with good reason, it's easy to mess up the CPU doing it) but it does work. If it's not the IHS and Block not being level then it could be the mount pressure itself or a combination of those things.

It was a lack of paste & tighteness of the mounting hardware/mounting issue that caused the 3900X paste job to look that bad, the 5950X (the one time I dismounted the CPU block) has a much better mount/paste look to it.  The problem with the EK mounting kit is the things that go through the motherboard, you have no real way of knowing when they're tightened properly in to the backplate, especially because of the plastic washers.  I'm glad I don't have to mess with it anytime soon, it'll be a while yet before I do a loop cleaning.
