Well something has come up(an opportunity of sorts) and I may throw a big wrench into this whole thing not go FERMI. If I do I hope you guys wont hate me for what the alternative is. But it is to good of a deal to pass up. I will keep you informed.......

Re:Work In Progress "Project Paragon" 2010/05/11 03:00:13 (permalink)
Ok, so here is the story. My Grandpa is a die hard FSX player and I built his PC for him cause his old 486 just wasn't cutting it....LOL. But he shows alot of interest in it and he saw how much I enjoy building and tinkering with computer's. Long story short I told him that I'm going to be building a new system shortly and that I'm selling my components I have now because I'm going to start from the ground up. Well he took it upon himself to purchase two ASUS 5970's for my b-day. He asked around, told the people he asked that he wanted to get top of the line videocards for his grandson and I guess these were what they suggested. My Grandpa is just awesome! He told me he spent 2 days tracking these cards down. Even though "my plan" was 3 GTX 480's, there is no way in hell I'm gonna say "hey Grandpa....can we exchange those for these instead". So my "project" has taken a 180 and I'm gonna build my 1st ATI system. BTW.....I purchased a EVGA 9800GT Superclocked that I'm gonna use as a Physx card....if I can get it to work. I know they are working on solutions to allow Nvidia Physx cards to work in a ATI GPU system. So there will ALWAYS be EVGA and Nvidia in my builds:) More to come..............................

Re:Work In Progress "Project Paragon" ****UPDATE - READ POST #48**** 2010/05/13 01:53:08 (permalink)
Since i've been "patiently" waiting for my new components to get here I decided to do a little add on mod to my desk mod I did awhile back I made this shelve for my tower to sit on and it was a solid piece of wood as you can see by the pic below. What I did now is added a little more airflow....I cut 4 holes and then I mounted some fan grills and wha-la! I think that it will make a pretty big difference.....i'm gonna need the airflow from the bottom as you will see when I finish this mod.....

When I 1st did the desk mod: SOLID

Here is what I just finished

I was gonna recess these grills but they are thin enough not to worry about it

1750 Watts Of Corsair Power Mounted Both PSU's mounted to a single 11" X 11" board. 3" in between them. Had to make a circular cut in my center support beam for the TX750W's fan. MMMMMMMMMM POWER!
