Hello, i just ordered a ftw 3080. I have a evga 750GQ PSU. I have 3 PCIe connectors on the PSU. I'm currently using two individual 8 to 6+2 cables on my 2070 super. I have a 3rd cable that is a "split y cable" that i want to use as my last cable. Would i be able to use one of "split" 6+2 and leave the other 6+2 hanging freely? pictured is what the "split" cable looks like. thanks

Yep, as Jankerson commented - you'll be a-okay.  Ideally you'd have 3 direct cables, but Jacob has confirmed that 1+1 daisy chain would be fine.  Something like the image below:

I've been struggling to get my EVGA 3080 FTW3 working. It's a known good card, as it works fine in another computer. I put it into my Ryzen rig and it can't complete a TimeSpy at stock or any lower TDP settings using Percision.
The computer had a Seasonic 650 Gold with cables as above with THREE PCIe SLOTS.
I blame the PSU as officially Nvidia wants a 750W PSU. So I buy an EVGA 750 GM. Same exact issue.
Putting the card back into the other system runs fun.
