Yikes 2034. You overclocking at all?

Video card no cause it already boost to 1228 which is fine, but cpu yes working on it. I only have my 2600K at 3.8Ghz since I'm on the stock cooler for now. I'm working on getting stuff I need before making it main gaming rig (new case and cpu cooler).

Its getting better though.

look at this guy here, he got 2064 on a 770, I'm not far behind him

Not impressed with the 770 results..... The 770 has the fastest memory clock out of all the gpus available, and it can't even compete with a 670 FTW?

you are comparing a overclocked 670 on a 2500K at 5Ghz to a stock 770 on a 2600K at 3.8Ghz (for now until I get a better cooler)

If you want overclocked results on 770 and CPU then look at these two posts

http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1961592 2247

http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=1958661 2133

I don't plan to overclock my card (sensitive to folding@home is why)..... and I'm only gonna give my 2600K a mild OC of 4.0 - 4.4Ghz eventually... so don't bother competeing with mine.

I'll pull my second card out of my board tomorrow and run a single 670 FTW with 320.49 driver. That 2066 score was on a x8 lane with 310 driver. Should see 2150-2200 easy at 1293mhz core/3707 memory.

You won't see a difference between 16x and 8x on a single card, so good luck with that part

I guess with your high a gpu overclock clock speed it saturated the 8x lane, for most people that won't happen.

yea I edited my post and realized that

Now for the real test, disable kboost and see if you can still beat a 770 cause I know the kboost is what is helping your score as well

If you really wanted true results between 670 and 770, someone with a 770 card would have to have kboost on as well and most people won't use it since its designed to prevent card from going to max load on a non demanding game.

I could go higher, 1319mhz on that particular card, but it I don't think its going to put me over 2200 score. I'm done benchmarking this rig, as I'm building a 4930k system as we speak, just have to pick my Msi board and order my Antec Eleven hundred case

Yea I just got my EVGA Z68 SLI (was only $40 on evga bstock) since my MSI P67 only has a single PCI-E 16x slot (needed another slot for a dedicated PhysX card), and I'm gonna replace my Antec 300 with the Antec 300 Two (updated revision of the same case, better cable management, sideways hardrive bays, PSU filter, motherboard plate exuast fan)

I noticed you have a antec 300 original revision as well sean, this could be a option for you as well, just get the Revision Two of the case its cheaper then the 1100, I found the antec 300 two for $63 on amazon.

Yeah the Antec 300 is a great cooling solution, but I think I'll be going tri sli with the 800 series(probably 3x870s), and want a little more room for air flow, more fans for sure. Still deciding between the Nine-hundred and the Eleven-hundred. But, yeah I wouldn't buy anything but Antec for cooling solutions, the 300 has won over a dozen international awards
Many people have asked how I keep my 2500k@5.0ghz running under 56C on a cheap 30$ Hyper 212 cooler, its not just the aftercooler that's keeping it@those temps, it's Antec's air flow design.

I would get the Hyper 212 cooler but I'm always afraid of those large coolers either blocking the first ram slot, hitting the VRM heatsink, or hitting the top exaust fan of the case

I dunno what cooler to get yet to replace my stock retail one and can't afford to make a mistake of getting one that doesn't fit

One simalar to this is what I would consider getting, its almost like the stock cooler and has a slightly larger fan and thicker heatsink, only need a mild OC of 4.0 - 4.4Ghz out of whatever cooler I get since I just run a single 770 and not SLI.

The Hyper 212 plus fits snug in the 300, with maybe a half inch to spare. If you do a push/pull like me, just make sure you pick up a lower profile fan on the push side, otherwise you may be touching the memory fins. Their are much better coolers available now, it's just a matter of how much you want to spend and how much you're into cosmetics vs. functionality. Also use all the fan slots in that case, made a huge difference for me. I went with the Sickelflows by Coolermaster because they're super cheap($9.99),move 69 cfm@2k rpm, and are for the most part silent at 19db.

Sorry if you've said this or not but I am just reading your first sentence here.

I am running an AM3+ ASrock 990FX Extreme9 motherboard with the Hyper 212 and the cooler does NOT block the first ram slot. Yes the RAM stick is a little difficult to remove/insert at first, but the cooler sits well above the RAM stick once it's actually in. Let me see if I can find a picture of my rig somewhere around here. Perhaps my modsrigs has a picture of it though. I havent updated those.

While it's a bit cheaper to buy packs like this, keep in mind the airflow of the fan. I would have recommended these that I bought for my rig

They are the CoolerMaster Sickle Flow R4's 120mm with Blue LED's but push 69 CFM at the 2k RPM and are $8

well $8 x 4 needed = $32.... thats a bit spendy for just case fans in my opinion instead of $12 for 4 :p

thanks though

the airflow is not a problem in my case with these anyway, I'm just lacking on cpu cooling which I will fix eventually

right now I have my 2600K @ 4Ghz and the stock cooler seems to be holding up to it fine but just barely.

Well, as I mentioned earlier, the Hyper 212 is a very good one, especially in the push/pull config. The only problem is that I was unable to find the same fan model for the pull so I ended up replacing both with the R4's I listed. And again, the clearance on the ram is fine, just be concerned about the side panel clearance. I am using a Rosewill Blackhawk (not ultra) and it literally sits right next to it off by a few cm's. So make sure your case has enough depth to it.

These fans are not good^1200 rpm /44 cfm at 19db? 44 cfm is terrible for a fan that's 19db. That's why their so cheap, you need 2k rpm fans that generate at least 65Cfm and try to stay under 19db.

The ones I get are a popular seller with the antec 300, 4 pack box for $12, when the case only has 4 extra slots for fans + the 2 fans it already comes with, if they were that terrible nobody would buy them, they are only terrible by YOUR standards

Like I said above my airflow is fine, it keeps my GTX 770 around 68 - 70c, which is exactly what the reviews show for the ACX cooler.

As for the CPU cooler, I finally found one I like thats fits my budget with the size I want, plenty of room around the socket and not as top heavy, people have overclocked 2600K's to 4.5Ghz on it. www.amazon.com/dp/B004PLSENU

It's a push pin I know, but I really like the size of it (not big and bulky like most others) so I can set it either to push the heat to top exaust fan or to the rear exaust fan, it will fit both ways.
