I was running 2 GTX 970 ssc acx 2.0 in sli with an EVGA Supernova 750 P2 power supply and my system wass VERY unstable. Getting random lock ups and BSOD. Removed one video card and my system is stable. Going to get a 850 or 1000 watt power supply and see how things go.

My other PC that my son uses had a 850 watt p/s so I swapped it with mine. Still no go. Looks like a 1000 watt is next. Kind of disappointing to believe that 2 GTX 970ssc acx 2.0 in SLI should require that much power.

I currently have a 650w power supply which powers an over clocked 4690k and a gtx 970ftw. I also have an h100i cooling my CPU, 16gb ram with an sdd and hard drive. My question is would 650w be enough to add another 970ftw or would I have to buy another psu?

850w minimum.
