PSU cable to the cpu is too short, what is the 8 pin cable extention called, pci-e or eps.

iam using the extention that came with the corsair 800D, but its still too short. they way i have it is that its going from the bottom up over my gtx 580, looks bad.

but it wont plug in.

    (4) 8-pin is called the EPS12V.
    But have you tried running it under the mobo (behind the backplate)? Then out at the top, over the mobo? That's how I ran mine.

    Overclocking is useless to me if it is not rock stable.

    tried that, still too short :(
    the way i have it is the only way for now......

    How much longer you think you need? Look for the EPS extenders,and run it underneath the MB . Or if you have a wire management hole above the MB,would work well. http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l3/g2/c413/s1214/list/p1/Cables-PSU_Cables-12V_EPS_Extensions-Page1.html

    make you sure is only for GPU or for EPS
     
    the polarity is reverse , my friend have a bad experience 
     
    the GPU and pSU died in 1 second
