Anyone have recommendations for a good quality PCIe 4.0 riser cable - ideally with the 90 degree adapter where it connects to the GPU.. currently using a 240mm ASUS ROG Strix PCIe 3.0 cable [link], but they don't do a PCIe 4.0 version, at least not yet. (edit: I notice the price on Amazon has been bumped up from almost $50 when I got one to $80 now)

I found one by LianLi [link] it's 200mm, but only place I found it in stock just now were asking over $90 + shipping and it was shipped from Dubai..

EVGA - would be stoked if you sold these!

edit: Found another on Amazon - "Linkup" brand - never heard of it, but it claims to be tested on PCIe 4.0 with the RTX 3090, and it's right angle, so I've ordered one [link].

What case are you building in? I need to order one for my Corsair 5000d case, trying to figure out the best length.

I currently have a 240mm PCIe 3.0 cable in a Corsair 680X and that is certainly more than long enough, 200mm would have been fine, probably even less. However, I just ordered a Corsair 5000X (same dimensions as your 5000D) so I can put 2 x 360mm radiators in it. I haven't received the case yet so I'm hoping 200mm is long enough. I'll let you know.

EDIT: Check out the video below - he uses a Corsair PCIe riser cable which are 300mm long in a 5000D case - look around 3:40 time stamp.. 300mm cable is way more than enough, so judging by that video, 200mm should be ok, certainly 250mm would be plenty.

Opened up the 5000X shipping box today and found the side panel completely shattered. Waiting on replacement, should have it in a few days, so I guess it will be next weekend before I can check out the 200mm riser cable for size. :/

I've been using a couple of the Link-up pci-e 4 riser cables with great success. No issues.

Thanks for the pictures. They're really helpful.
It looks like the riser cable prevents use of the x4 slot, PE3. Is that right?

A sound card. The problem is that it's at the bend in the cable which would force a tighter bend in that cable.

Might be ok with a longer riser cable that can go over the sound card and back underneath it, in more of an exaggerated "S" shape. That's the problem with a vertical mount GPU - it (usually) looks good, but can limit you in other ways.. unless you make some kind of custom case where the GPU riser cable just goes straight out.

    Thanks.
I see what you mean. Plus in my case the vertical mounted 3080 (hopefully) might be too close to the glass panel. I better not do this.
But I'm keeping your link to the cable in case I change my mind. It appears you found the best one for Gen4.

I just realized that you have the 5000X. I have the 5000D Airflow. Don't you think the card will be too close to the glass?

Has anyone tried a vertical mount in a Thermaltake AH-T600 yet? Curious as to what length/style of cable would be needed for that.

The images they have on their website are a little unclear as to where it mounts, and the PDF manual doesn't really clarify it a whole lot. I can't quite tell if it's supposed to be a straight cable or a right angle from the pics.

Made the mistake of trying to check their forums for info.  Ye gods, what a dumpster fire full of spam that turned out to be...

How did this effect your temps?

It's on a full GPU/CPU loop water cooled build, so it makes no significant difference with temps, this is more for aesthetics (and allows room for a pump/res in my current build). On an air cooled card it may help, or it may make things worse, it depends on the case.

I don't know why I didn't consider that PCIe 4.0 cables have been made. I heard something about bifurcation allowing one to divide the high-bandwidth PCIe 4.0 lanes coming from one slot. I don't think this has many uses at the consumer level.

Hey man, I just saw all the updates, thank you!  I actually sent all the stuff back to newegg and bestbuy. So I have a nice new sealed up Kingpin Hybrid staring at me again. I questioned my motherboard, memory and psu decisions and decided to send it all back while I could till i finalize my choices.  Thank you for all the details!

I've been using a couple of the Link-up pci-e 4 riser cables with great success. No issues.

Just ordered the 25cm straight version. Might be a wee bit overlong, but I'm ok with that, I'd rather it be longer than find out it's too short for the case.

As an update - so I did actually start experiencing intermittent issues with multiple Linkup cables. Since Lian Li just dropped their pcie v4 cables, I picked up a few and have had no issues thus far on those.

Primary issues I experienced with the Linkup ones were standard riser cable issues such as negotiating right pcie version and speed.
