The more I run my numbers with my mITX the more I love it. (for build see my previous post on the previous page) Pushing it hard I have hit, with integrated graphics running, all 4 cores pegged (6700K) at 4.2ghz and all 8 threads basically pegged only 151 watts. Not counting 2 WD10EZEX which is another 13.6watts or the two fans which is like another 1.2w watts. Or 165.8 watts out of 500w. Now while 500 watts does not seem like a lot. Considering how efficient the GPUs have been getting... 500 watts really seems fine. Since even if we error and call it 170 watts draw. We still have 330 watts to play with and having been looking at the max draws for the newer 1060-1080 GPUs... 330 seems to be fine as the GPUs tend to draw about 19-20% over their rated specs when being pushed to their normal limits (IE no Overclocking/Mods). The 19-20% over figure was done using figures from TomsHardware for the 1060 and iirc the 1080. And spec watt figures from EVGA. Which that being said. There is almost no reason not to go to mini-ITX. I need to remember to post here more so I can post my build pics...

The mesh on the top and on the bottom looks pretty cool, but the intake fan looks kind of strange to me. Also the metal frame over the exhaust fan is not the best idea EVGA had. ;)

Ok the EVGA Hadron Hydro Mini-ITX Steel Black Chassis I would like to know if the custom water cooling add-on for this case is still available, i been looking all over the site for it, and can not find anything about it. I seen a review awhile back and the one that was reviewing it had one .. I am wanting to put together a system so that i can use only for folding, was i am thinking about going with this case only if the water cooling add on is still around, or if anyone knows of a set up that would work ... Would liek the EVGA set up for the system ....

Nothing crazy here, but I do love how small this case is for the price. The cooler needs to go though, that G100M from CoolerMaster is not performing as well as I'd hoped.

You didn't check EVGA ACX mITX CPU Cooler or Noctua NH-U9? Or eventually NH-L9A. Maybe this help... My favorite small Noctua.

I did look at the NH-L9A and a the EVGA cooler, but I wanted something that works well and wasn't a tower cooler. I grabbed the G100M from Microcenter one day while I was in the store and didn't really know what it was. Turns out it looks interesting/different but doesn't perform well. I'm gonna get rid of it and try out a NH-L12S with a Corsair LL120 dual light loop RGB fan on the top. Hopefully that cooler will work well enough on the 7700k and the Corsair fan can add that bit of "style" I was looking for.

With Noctua NH-L12S you will get much better temps. Special if you install NF-A12x25 PWM fan on top. But cooler on picture I posted is NH-U9S. I believe he is even better. Probably with two NF-A9 PWM fans who work on 1500 RPM on resistor. That's not noisy inside of case, maybe little but far less then GPU Cooler. Your PC is great, super cool case and best possible GPU, it's bad to struggle with some CPU coolers. You can check pictures online... people used even 120mm AIO Liquid Cooling Systems. But if you no place for them several people used NH-U9S, he is my advice for you. If someone reach 4.8GHz MAX on best biggest Noctua Air Coolers then on NH-U9S could be OC to 4.5GHz example. More pictures. You have space for two fans. He look amazing inside, in combo with RTX Titan. You could install Grey Noctua Redux 92mm fans. They spin on 1600 RPM PWM, NF-B9 Redux, I mean if you don't like Noctua natural color. You will choose what you like, I would install him and two fans.

I do like the natural colors of the Noctua fans, I actually have 2 NF-A12x15 fans for the top of the case to provide some extra clearance for coolers. 10mm extra is a lot of extra space. I also like the performance of the Noctua tower coolers but I was looking for something a little more unique visually. That's why I wanted to go with a down drafter cooler where you can see the fan, and having that fan be an RGB ring fan like the Corsair LL120 is the reason why I got it. I like that picture too, that powersupply relocation is actually really cool. That gives me some ideas for trying more simple mods. Hmm, I wonder if a SFX-L can be squeezed up in that area.

My almost six year old Hadron Air was overdue for an update. Originally put together with a 4690k and GTX970, it's done well, but plans are in motion. Phase 1 completed: replaced GTX970 with RTX2060 KO Ultra and replaced stock Intel cooler with a more robust solution. I had to remove the drive cage to fit the Silverstone TD-02 Slim in there, but drive cages aren't long for this world anyway. No new cpu yet, I'm going to drag this old mare to Zen 4. Time to finally do some overclocking. Next - Step 2: Replace the stock PSU with an SFX 650-watt in front of the IO shield to make room for an eventual mATX board while clearing enough power for eventual Navi 2.
