hey folks,. I'm looking into the 49/57 inch SAMSUNG Odyssey line and I'm reading a BUNCH! of mixed information regarding max resolution/refresh, Display port 1.4a vs 2.1 and HDMI 2.1,.. with varying statements of success, depending on firmware (monitor) and driver fixes (GPU),... I'm currently running  the KINGPIN 3090,.....regardless of advertised specs,.. has anyone tried/succeeded in using either of these satisfactorily???,..I'd appreciate an updated definitive on the subject,.. thanks again!!

First of all the Odyssey line includes both VA panels and OLED. Do you want OLED or a VA panel? Personally I'd prefer OLED. Don't worry about display port 2.1. NVIDIA won't include DP 2.1 until their next gen video cards which will probably release very late 2024 or Q1 of 2025. AMD's upper line up of video cards does have DP 2.1 however.

I'd love to have a top of the line Odyssey monitor but I don't have the money.

I've read the 49 inch is an OLED whereas the 57 inch is not,...... this still doesn't answer my question!!,...(but thank you for the input)

Just be aware of what you're getting into bandwidth-wise with these types of displays. I've had a few customers contacting us about G9 display issues that turn out to be that they're just exceeding the bandwidth. As a single display, it's great, but you quickly run out of bandwidth on Displayports if you add in a second or third display.

As large as those monitors are I wouldn't want a 2nd display. I'd run out of desk space.

I've got a 49" G9 everything works great. It's super immersive for things like space and racing games. FPS i'd argue it's a bit to big. Compare performance to 4K displays as it's resolution is almost the same as 4k. If I had to do it again I'm not sure I'd go with 32:9 again many games don't support the resolution or just look awful, movies aren't the best.. ymmv
