Meh who cares? Was bound to happen considering their SSD offerings kept causing people headaches and their SSD pci based cards caused nothing but complicated issues with boot setups.

I had a feeling this would happen. Too bad because the potential for innovation was there.

What does this mean for PC Power & Cooling, which OCZ bought out.
Their RAM line, their other products, etc? Do they still have those?

Excellent question on PC P&C.  As for the RAM market they announced they were leaving the RAM market in 2011.

with all the issues they ahve had with SSd's over the years i'm not suprised, its a shame though because they were such a huge driving force in the SSD market.

We'll have to see if another company steps in to buy their assets either before bankruptcy or after.

The article indicates it's Toshiba. No idea how they'll handle it though.

I have 2 OCZ products... A SSD (thanks zuhl) and a PSU. They have both served me well and still run today... I'm really kinda angry this is happening, nothing I can do about it though.

    My Laptop (GE63VR-7RF):
    -7700HQ.
    -16GB RAM.
    -GTX 1070.
    -128GB SSD.
    -1X 1TB 7200 spinny drive.

I have a PC Power & Cooling 1200w.  I bet Toshiba keeps them running and pretty much separate like OCZ did.  Seems like a shame but I have not bought their stuff in years.  Once they got out of the memory market I think it went down hill.

I have a PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 1200w and two Vertex-4 drives that are still working flawlessly for a very long time. All of my OCZ drives have worked well from my first Agility-2, 3 Vertex-3, and both of my Vertex-4. All of my PC Power & Cooling PSU have worked perfectly and still in service starting with a Silencer 750 than a Silencer 910 before my 1200w purchase earlier this year. I am worried about my warranty if something goes wrong now since OCZ has had issues replacing many of its newer model defective drives. The waiting period for a replacement Vector is as long as 6 months. I hope I haven't just jinxed my SSD reliability by saying how well they have preformed. Every time I brag about my Corsair K70 keyboard, the LED start burning out and after touting its greatness two days ago it started typing double-characters. If some of these words have two 'f's or other letters it's because I'm tired of having to correct everything.

When BFG went out of business they made sure to provide warranty support through another company. Hopefully OCZ if they're smart enough might do that. However I think that was for newer products only.

If there is no money in the pot to pay for warranties then you have no warranty. That depends on what happens in bankruptcy.

I was looking on Newegg to see if they were selling OCZ SSD's on the cheap. Still the same price, but have rebate cards on them, like those are going to get paid lol.

Because you had one SSD fail? My OCZ drives are working great. My Corsair K70 keyboard is another story. I am about to RMA my third and none of them have lasted much more than a month. I might have to dig out my Ouija board and summon some dark entities to trash and destroy Corsair's entire inventory just so they have to start over from scratch and start making decent keyboards.

I looked at them and other gaming keyboards and they are all using Cherry MX keyswitches. Almost every site that sells these keyboards have owners complaining about the exact same problem with some keys typing double-characters or none at all. Until someone sits down and confronts Cherry about the quality of their keyswitches this problem will remain unsolved. A collective 'Class Action' lawsuit brought by the manufacturers of keyboards using Cherry MX switches might be the only way to get a satisfactory outcome to this problem.

No because the company was trash in dealing with the dead SSD. Here's corsair's take on my broken AX1200. They cross shipped at their expense a new power supply overnight to fix the coil whine the AX1200 was known for. To top it off, they sent a prepaid shipping label as well for me to ship my PSU back when I was done testing the new PSU.

OCZ on the other hand, told me the drive was my problem to deal with and that they wouldn't cover the warranty on it even though the drive was less than 6 months old when it died. I tried calling several times to get a better rep but all reps had the same answer, and refused a supervisor escalation when asked to talk to one.

So yes OCZ is a piece of garbage. Not to mention the ram set i had from them on which my Ram coolers just fell off my ram...
