Well I spent all my X-Mass money that I got back from my 401K to an IRA on 2 EVGA 04G-P4-2989-KR GeForce GTX 980 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Hydro Copper Video Cards Today. NewEgg
So I guess I won't be buying any Gifs for the Family this year. Ho Ho Ho.
Now What or Where best to use them?
Replace my 3 GTX Titans that are also on Hydro Copper in this or my current Dark Titan Rig?
Or
Replace my 3 GTX 690s that are also on Hydro Copper in this or my current X79GTX690Cruncher Rig?
What To Do.....

In all honesty I would probably put them with the fastest CPU set up that you have which looks like the Dark Titan Rig.

    Dimastech Easy V2.5   |   EVGA Z690 Dark KP   |   12900KS   |   G.Skill Trident Z5 6400   |   EVGA RTX 3080Ti  |   Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series   |   FireCuda 530 M.2   |   Corsair AX1200i   |   Alienware 34"   |   Windows 10 Pro   |   Basilisk Ultimate   |   BlackWidow v3 TenKeyless

That is what I am thinking and then putting the Titans in the X79GTX690Cruncher Rig.
Then I could try and sale my GTX 690 Hydro Copper Cards.

    Here they are

So it looks like I will be swapping out my 3 EVGA GTX 690 Hydro Copper GRAPHICS CARDS with these Bad Boys.
So my X79GTX690Cruncher Rig will have to be renamed to X79GTX980CF&B
CFB = Crunch Fold & Benchmark

Got them and installed them :)
They're great with just one SLI related problem when one has more than one DVI-monitor: splitting DVI monitors over both cards makes one of them inaccessible when SLI is on, because SLI can just handle monitors attached to one card.
For that I ordered two more Asus ROG PG278Q, making it three. As they use Display Port, I hope this will solve that problem. Also I can't use them in 2D surround for Star Citizen, because the game simply crashes. But it's an alpha, so I hope it will stop doing that at one time.

Apart from that, they're running great:

No overclocking yet. Didn't decide if I will do it after all. But I just might.
My third EVGA generation of cards. Happy :)

Stock Setting to Start Off, I want to make sure my Water Loop is ok before I turn up the Heat so to say.

Still testing BOINC Projects and then a few Folding Tasks.
Then I start Overclocking them and then do some more Benchmarking.
I would like to exceed my Titan Scores.

Thread is massively cleaned up.  The topic of the thread is about a person's system installed with a pair of new cards, not the comparative price/performance levels of cards the OP doesn't have installed at this time.

Excellent list of benchmarks there bcavanaugh , lots of great info.  I have been running tri-sli systems for several years now and i don't like to upgrade until 2 of the most recent model can stomp whatever my current 3 way setup might be.   Reading through them all has lit the overclocking fire again and now you got me looking at the X99's ....

    Thanks Nordic

    Yes Thank you Nordic,
Tomorrow I will give Folding a Go, I hope that get at least One Core 17 and no Core 15.
Once this is completed then I will Start backup Overclock the cards using EVGA PrecisionX 16 Current Version.
I will update any Scores that change.

Ah good thing the thread was cleaned up. Now it's readable again.

The above mentioned SLI problem of me was fixed by getting two more ASUS ROG monitors connected via DP on one single card. This stopped some serious crashes in Star Citizen. Seems it really was the problem. Two monitors split between 2 graphics cards in 2D Surround makes Cry Engine 3 go boom.

Very happy with the two cards now :)

Then it is best to use the DP Ports over the DVI Port for SLI then?
I did just get two new DP Cables.

No, I doubt it's because of DP versus DVI.
The 980 Hydro Coppers have 3 DP and only one DVI port. That's why I went triple DP.
