I wouldn't think so but I personally don't know. It's a federal holiday so most federal agencies will be closed along with banks and schools. EVGA is a private business so my assumption is they're open.

If someones been here long enough, were the closed last year as well?

yes, you can sign up for more than one product (model). Each product seems to have its own queue and length. When its time you will receive an email for each product you signed up for. You cannot obviously sign up for same product twice.

How long a day takes to cycle through depends entirely on which queue you're in.

Also, this monitor is awesome.  Mindblowingly awesome.

That is great to hear.  I would love something like that, but...not in the cards for this year (or next...or next...).  It looks so darn cool!

Words nor pictures do it justice, but:

A full keyboard in comparison at least gives it some perspective.
Amazingly the extra pixels aren't tanking performance as much as I was expecting, but it's still a performance hit in what I've ran so far.  Cyberpunk 2077 it's a few FPS in most cases.  I'm still varying on whether I just take the FPS hit or turn DLSS "up/down" to Balanced from Quality, which seems to negate the fps drop going from 3440 x 1440 to 5120 x 1440 completely... unsurprisingly since that's a resolution drop in effect... not sure how much, but it's enough to be noticeable in some areas - Quality tends to improve visuals and actually makes things readable in the distance that are NOT readable at default resolution, Balanced takes that back away in most cases.

Looking forward to snagging a Kingpin to get that extra 120MHz stock to play with etc and see how much that bumps my FPS back up at this ~7.4M pixel count AKA almost 2160p (what is erroneously called 4K).  Hoping that extra stock speed translates to greater than a ~2150MHz stable OC with ease.

Samsung Odyssey G9 gaming monitor

Been trying to score one myself, but have not had any luck other than scalper pricing.  There were plenty around before Christmas, but supply had dried up.  But I guess we are used to that around here, lol.

If he did get an email today it was likely an automated "next person up" from someone declining to purchase from yesterday, because there aren't any drops or shipping on the weekend as far as we all know.

Yes 3080 Ti is postponed indefinitely until "supply for the current SKUs is ramped up", which in NVidia speak means a while.

I'm over here all wowed by this monitor, looking forward to seeing how Cyberpunk destroys the 3090 at this resolution. lol

In other words, it's postponed until nVidia's important customers (cryptocurrency miners) are done buying GPUs OR until AMD actually decides to make their actual product.

Accurate.

Also, this monitor is awesome.  Mindblowingly awesome.

I was going to ask about that!! That's really good to hear. I mean, for the price, and based on my experience with Samsung's displays in general, I would be surprised if it wasn't amazing!! How's your 3090 handling it?

Also accurate, but I have mixed feelings. Having worked 7 years in retail, you have to find the best balance you can between giving your customers the best service, the best prices, and still make enough money to keep your job and keep your business open. As far as companies go, I would trust EVGA to walk that line with a fair amount of respect and regard for their customers more so than most. Some companies go too far with good pricing and good service. Don't believe me? Ask about BFG. Nvidia's unreliable GTX 295 (among other things) was partly to blame for BFG going under, but their great customer service and lifetime warranty were also costing them dearly. Notice next to no one offers lifetime warranties on such products anymore? Nvidia was also not giving BFG (or others) hardly ANY room for margin on their cards. (sound familiar?) So in this scenario we are in, EVGA is going to prioritize their more profitable SKUs. While it sucks for us, and we can be salty about it, the blame lies far more with Nvidia than it does with EVGA. Notice that EVGA is not the only company selling more expensive cards than MSRP-ish ones. Both of the discontinued notices I received from B&H that I shared here were for cheaper models, closer to MSRP - which I why I signed up for them! Both now discontinued, not that they ever existed in any serious numbers to begin with. Neither was EVGA.

We can be frustrated with EVGA, and that is understandable, but the bulk of our ire should be directed toward crypto miner worshipping NVIDIA. They are literally SHAFTING everyone that's not a miner in order to cut out as many middlemen as possible on their path to profits. It's a free market. I get it. The issue I see with that is that they are sacrificing brand loyalty and long term stability in order to cash in on a quick buck.

Of all the graphics card releases, THIS ONE is the one they LEAST needed to do that for. With how COVID changed the world, and the generational leap in performance Ampere provided, they could have sold the shiz out of them, making Best Buy, EVGA, other partner companies, and themselves loads of money, but that wasn't enough of them. The mining craze caught everybody off guard, and only a few were ready and able to cash in on the last one. They were READY for this one. AMD is fighting with pure paper right now, and Nvidia knows it. Hence the disappearing 3080ti and scant base model manufacturing.

The only thing I'm really frustrated with towards EVGA specifically, is that I read more success stories and happy endings on Reddit and other forums about people just going to stores to buy cards than what we are getting with our enormous queue. Many of these success stores are people walking into a micro center or a best buy and walking out with an EVGA branded 3000 series card in their hands. I wish they would prioritize this queue more. I am not sure if they are meeting contractual minimums, or just going for more quick bucks a la Nvidia by doing so. Would be GREAT if somebody official would chime in and give us a little bit of reasoning behind the way things are going.

And I don't mean the canned responses about supply, demand, and COVID, etc.

Yeah they come in stock on Amazon about once a week, literally in the middle of the night, for about 10-30 minutes, I was lucky enough to check & snag one at MSRPish price.  Not as low as they were on there at Christmas ($1199) but close enough.
I'll be keeping it for a while so the price is worth it... not to mention I'll net about $500 back for my Alienware AW3418DW, so it's kinda like getting $500 back on the new monitor, sort of... lol

Well the 5120 x 1440 resolution is basically like 2160p (so called 4K), it's 7.4M pixels vs ~8M for 2160p.  It's handling it reasonably well, since I was running 3440 x 1440 before, it's not THAT big of a jump, but it's basically another half-screen or so of pixels, so it definitely netted a performance hit, few FPS less in the same areas vs before in Cyberpunk 2077.  I balanced it out by going from "Quality" to "Balanced" on DLSS, rather than lowering settings... I'll probably mess around with that some more eventually, right now I'm towards the tail end of my second play through so dont' really wanna futz with settings.
Looking forward to playing some other titles & seeing how they handle this resolution, Cyberpunk did a good job of not making things too overly fish-eyed for 32 by 9.

I know ultrawide would be fun for gaming, but it's hard for me to justify it. A nice 4k monitor can be found for great prices these days. There is a lot of selection. I wasn't even personally planning on going 4k with mine, but Sam's Club had their store display on clearance at a price I couldn't refuse: $132 for a 27" LG IPS monitor with Freesync. It has been an awesome display with excellent color and sharpness for my photo and video editing projects. For better or worse, I do less gaming on my system than all the other stuff I do. Sometimes I'll go for weeks without any gaming! Just not always a priority. I have a center 4k display (the LG) and two Samsung 22.5" screens on the sides. Eventually I'd like to have a 32" 4k display, but I want it to be OLED ideally, or QLED if still not feasible. I'd like something with better black levels. I tried out a 50" Vizio with Quantum dot tech. Boy, were those black levels great! Noticeably better than my 4k LG monitor. However, I just plain couldn't do 50" on my desk! I really hope we get some smaller screens with OLED. Samsung does make smaller QLED TVs, but unlike the Vizio, they don't (yet) have HDMI 2.1 for running faster refresh rates that the 3000 series cards are capable of. Once I finally get the 32" 4k monitor figured out some day, I'll rotate my side displays to portrait. One of my friends did that with his setup, and it looked amazing. It gives you loads of screen and desktop real estate while taking up less desk space than three horizontal monitors like I have now.

Definitely happy for Dabadger84's new screen! I'm just not a curved screen kind of guy. I do like having triple monitors though. ;)

I do like having triple monitors though. ;)

To be honest, to me, 4K is the one that's hard to justify on a regular-sized PC monitor.  I don't see the point in having that many pixels on a 27" or even 32" screen.  For me, the Ultrawide before it, and now the Super Ultrawide, is as much about multi-tasking as it is immersive gaming.
Keep in mind when/if you go for OLED that at the current technology level, it has burn in issues like the old Plasma TVs used to.  Unsure of when they'll solve that and when said solution would make it's way to PC display technologies.
I used to run multi-monitor back in the days of having 2-3-or-4 GTX 580s in SLi, twas fun while it lasted for games like Battlefield 3... flying a chopper or fighter jet with "Surround" was amazing at the time.  The big monitor in the middle with 2 rotated smaller ones on the side is something I almost did but never got around to, I set my sights on ultrawide when it came out, and rolled around to one when the Alienware AW3418DW came out, glad I took the leap.

I agree with the sentiment that once you go Ultrawide you'll never go back, both for gaming & for multi-tasking, it's amazing to have it all on one screen... and I'll add to that, once you go curved gaming you'll not want to play on a flat panel again... I've heard a few people say they don't like curved displays, I can't really comment on curved 16 by 9 stuff since I've never even seen one in person, but the Alienware 34" was 1900R I believe, and this one is 1000R... and I personally prefer the tighter curve, I think it's actually easier on the eyes, once your brain adjusts to it, and immersive is putting it lightly.  It's almost like playing in VR without the VR headset, having such a wide display with such a curve on it.

Alright guys, IT'S MONDAY... YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS...

May the drops be with us, my account is still ready to receive that sweet Kingpin order, here's hoping we get more than 6 fruggin' cards dropped this week for that SKU.

I wish they would prioritize this queue more. I am not sure if they are meeting contractual minimums, or just going for more quick bucks a la Nvidia by doing so. Would be GREAT if somebody official would chime in and give us a little bit of reasoning behind the way things are going.

I would assume that they are meeting contract obligations and keeping long term merchants happy when they're sending cards to the major retailers.  They're going to make more money per card selling them to us directly at retail pricing than they get per card wholesale to NewEgg, Micro Center, Best Buy, etc.  So, short term, it would maximize profits to put every card into queue sales but, long term, that's probably not a winning strategy since each of us will buy one card once every few years and the retailers are buying thousands annually.  Each card not sold directly to us at retail has a reason behind why they're foregoing the additional short term profit.

You will love it. I got the 65" back in October when it went on sale at Costco. My biggest complaint about it is that I didn't purchase it sooner. By far the best tv/monitor I have ever had :)

Are the folks going to Microcenter seeing any stock in store and then going, or is it a total crap shoot? None of the ones around me show stock for anything in any state but maybe when you go in, they actually have stuff?

Anyway, hooray for more drops today! I can't imagine how wonderful it must feel.

microcenter's around NYC dropping cards all the time. they just don't always have time to update their POS system with whatever came off the truck. people line up in the morning and clean out cards and CPUs before the employees can scan it into the POS system. i was able to get a 5900x, 5950x, 3090 strix ($1710+tax, last week) and 3080 tuf ($665+tax, late december) even though the website never showed anything in stock. these are for two different builds, btw.

i've seen a bunch of gigabyte, evga and msi cards in stock at various points since december, i didn't buy them because they were all crap. i was waiting for the good stuff

I assume paterson has a line before opening still?

I am around 70 miles from paterson nj. I was last there in december. It had a line before opening on a Sunday morning. I went to get intel i7 9700 cpu and intel i9 9900 cpu. By the time I got inside they had no nVidia and no  worth while amd cards.
