Would this new bios be available from nVidia? And have you heard what improvements it might bring?

Nope , should be from EVGA e.g. signed as a vendor by them . Should help the 4K bootup issues . But I doubt that they will make it for download officially .. Only if someone with the new card would be so kind and upload it here 😄

http://www.evga.com/support/ticket/support.aspx i guess you need to contact the support. im not allowed to post this BIOS i think. they gave me a BIOS based on my cards serial number. if you have a different PCB rev. this BIOS might kills your card. keep in mind this bios: reduces the 3d boost ( -25MHz ) increase the voltage on some power states fixes the display port fixes DSR with more than one monitor. fixes EVGA PRO bridge LED ( fix was already in 84.04.2F.00.80 ) fixes SLI red screen flickering in very high resolutions with some monitors ( fix was already in 84.04.2F.00.80 )

with the first BIOS you could not configure it. now you can put the led on and off, increase light etc. using the EVGA led tool or with the nvidia tool

"increase the voltage on some power states" Oh now that is an important one! I hope it is the fix for the instability from boost feature when in low utilization situations! As I have been getting this frequently. Would be great if anyone can confirm that this fixes it. If yes, I'll make a ticket to get this new bios.

I just talked to a live chat support guy and he denied that there is an updated BIOS. I showed him that I have 84.04.28.00.80 and if he could give me 84.04.31.00.80. He told me it is for a different memory type oO. But super_KW says he got 84.04.31.00.83. So basically, the last two digits could refer to memory type? and the middle digits as the BIOS version? 28 to 31?

Is it possible to give all the bios technical details? Especially the voltages for the different states? EVGA Support refuses to aknowledge an updated bios, let alone give me one.

I am sure this has been mentioned, but going to the device Registration page will show your cards and an option to submit a ticket. They sent me one attachment which updated both cards. The requirement of not having Nvidia drivers installed on the card took a little work.

I would not use the BIOS in the link above because it isn't for the SC version and generally, they are the vanilla BIOSes. I managed to get a new bios revision for my cards that are 980 SC which moved me from version 84.04.28.00.80 to 84.04.31.00.83. So far, no crashes or grey screens on low utilization scenes. If anything changes, I will report back. Note that I am running SLI EVGA Geforce GTX 980 SC at +100/+400Mhz Offset OC with power at 124% and Temp Limit at 85C. I was able to run every benchmark and heavy game without issues at these settings. I even looped Unigine Heaven at night without a hitch or a glitch. If this revised BIOS gets rid of the low utilization instability issue for me, everything will be perfect. Well, apart from MLAA on SLI setups but that is a driver issue
