Got an update on it Friday night when I fired up the NF app & was curious what it was for . Ran the Line test video & it goes to 1080p 5800 bitrate . It only took what  , 2 years to get it back . I liked using it as my media box in the living room myself , built-in Dolby Digital decoding & media center to stream movies from my other pcs (killed by Win 10) . Plus it supports optical out to my 5.1 surround . So blow the dust off the old boxes & put them to use (if you still got one) !

I deleted the GWX hidden folder completely and just read each update before updating and I haven't had to fight it much since. 

Dammit.....got ninja'd again ........... As far as WIN 10 goes (which has nothing to do with my post ) download Spybot Anti-Beacon . It will block almost all the spying from Microsoft .

Did they make any changes in the interface whatsoever? Because my xbox 360 app still isn't streaming in 1080p, and they came back with a previous version of player interface.

The new version of the player interface was sleeker, icons like subtitle and language selection and the timeline had that same look of the players in the iOS and Android apps.

There was a private mode as well. I think I was part of one of their A/B tests.

Anyway, I contacted the support a couple times, the connection doesn't seem to be an issue. Like I said before, they said to me the x360 app has been presenting some issues (I've noticed the app freezes at 1% when jumping to next episode, and people been complaining in several forums and reddit threads about this.)

Yup , they went back to 720p . I got another update on it yesterday and got ninja'ed !  Tested it tonite and it no longer does 1080p @ 5800 bitrate . Krapola .......

I'm sorry for you... Last week I talked to the support again, they said 1080p will be back, but not until they fix all the issues that the app is presenting.

I'm optimistic they will give us back bc the support guy said so, however I won't put my hopes too high.

Well Netflix has done a couple of more updates since then . Now they removed the function on the Xbox 360 to see what you are streaming at while watching a movie & if you are getting 5.1 audio or not (by pushing down on the left joystick) . They also removed the other way of accessing the console (u,u,d,d,l,r,l,r,u,u,u) for either the 360 or Xbox One . Also you will need the latest Intel cpus in order to get 4k ? Sounds like another back-door deal with Intel to push their cpus .
