eleet has been blamed for fan speed issues alot in numerous threads here

There you go, it's because it's based off of HWMonitor and that conflicts with the RivaTuner core. Avoid using Everest and HWMonitor from now on. CPU-Z might be fine, but no one's 100% sure what the CPUID dev team added that could conflict with the RivaTuner core.

Solution to fan problems: Try not to use CPU-Z, GPU-Z, HWMonitor, Everest or E-Leet.

Precision + Speedfan don't cause conflicts in my experience.

Last problem: Folding. But looking back at the only instance of corruption, the poster (rjohnson11) had an SLI setup. Maybe that was the culprit? Anyways, maybe a single card would do fine and I sure that's what the majority without SLI must say, right?

Everest is based on Rivatuner. (for gfx sensors atleast)
Unwinder contributed code to them.

Also, considering everest provides more sensors than all of the apps you just mentioned combined lol.

alot of timings are actually set in the driver, so its not uncommon for newer drivers to have better performance at stock settings, but reduce max overclock. Its also not uncommon for nvidia to tighten them too much and cause havok for pre-overclocked parts.

its also not uncommon for GF100 cores to be finnicky.

actually... the effectiveness of OCCT isn't known for stress testing these days... nvidia have had a profile artificially limiting performance for a good while now.

i figured out what was causing the planets in the background of sc2 menu's to bleed through black outer rings
turning ambient occlusion off fixed this
previous drivers did not have this problem when turned on
it also fixed my framerate

Re:NVIDIA 260.63 Drivers Released! 2010/10/02 18:46:19 (permalink)
0x50 errors are memory corruption related

This Stop error indicates that requested data was not in memory. The system generates an exception error when using a reference to an invalid system memory address. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop error.

APC_INDEX_MISMATCH on a driver that works for millions of others usually means another part of the system is running out of whack, usually its the cpu running an unstable overclock.

could also be you are using ancient intel rapidstorage drivers, which have a similar error marked in the release notes.

Update to the Folding issues:

Single card owners need not worry, this driver will not corrupt on a single GPU system as I just ran 12 hours of Folding WUs without problems.

SLI people however should avoid these drivers as all the recent bugs reported from these drivers seem to correlate to SLI driver issues. This is why 2D and 3D surround are glitchy in these drivers.

This things killed my fps in the MOH beta... I was getting a good steady 130 - 140 fps. Now I rarely peak 100 fps most commonly sit around 60 - 80 fps.

I also can't open the nvidia control panel anymore it seems. :/ Haven't tried other games yet.

I am wondering if these drivers fixed the CTD on the MOH beta.

No I didn't try and install them. I don't even think my system was running my 480's in sli with the drivers, Mainly because I couldn't even open NVidia control panel. An 60 - 80 FPS is what I'd expect from 480 maxed out in a game.

I went back to the 258 drivers.

the sli patch is based on the 19x profiles is it not?

updated to 260.78 Quadro.... seems stable
same opengl crash in realteks viewer, and virtualbox, so i expect its those apps at fault.

BTW: with 260.63 drivers I've a lot of problems with my 470.
BadCompany 2 is stuttering every 20-50 seconds, sound hangs sometimes, every avi-file in VLC player dies after approximately 20 minutes..
go back to 258.96 everything is fine..
I think the Nvidia HD drivers is the issue ..

Re:NVIDIA 260.63 Drivers Released! 2010/10/06 18:56:28 (permalink)
so i may install these beta drivers because i had some problems with 258.96.
should i use the nvidia new driver method:
perform a clean installation:
(completely wipe out oldr drivers)
or should i uninstall, safe mode, use driver sweeper, boot normally and then install them also using that cleaning method for better reseults???
so should i used both cleaning methos, only the nvidia one or only the driver sweeper one??
thank you

WOW!!!!!!!!!!
that's all i have to say for these new drivers.
3dmark06 and 3dmarvantage 1k+ for both.
with gtx 460 overclocked i just went from 16k to 20k!!!!!!
these drivers are awesome. still in beta though but when the WQHL
come these would be better!!
let's you select HD NVIDIA sound and 3D drivers.
cleans old drivers (i did used driver sweeper just in case on safe mode).
but these drivers solved my issue with BSOD on evga precision reset button and unigine heaven benchmark errors on dx11 and anti-aliasing.
also i get better fsp on all games.
good performance, good drivers, problems solved.
thank you NVIDIA. hope to see a WQHL version soon.
thanks!!
