How about some specs and links. That's a pretty sick score for just 50mhz

PSU - AX1200
RAM - Patriot Intel Extreme Master, Limited Edition 1600MHz
CPU - 4930K at stock clocks
Motherboard - Asus X79 Sabertooth

This is the best I could do on my first night with it. I'm impressed. I haven't touched the voltage yet, but I start artifacting above +175 (1320mhz)

Okay something odd, when I max the power target out, I start artifacting at 1300mhz, but if I leave the power target at default, I don't artifact at 1300

Are you doing this on air? If so, how are the temps at these clocks? Does it run stable? And how do the artifacts look like?

Yeah it's on air. It didn't touch 70c at 70% fan speed. It runs just fine as long as I keep the power target below 105. It still benches above 1300mhz regardless of power target? I'm not complaining, just confused lol.

Does anyone have a good 7 series / precision OC guide? I think if I do it right, I could hit 1350/1375 mhz.

And how big is the performance gain comparing this to the stock boost of 1150 MHz? Just thinking about trying this on my card...

It took me four 780 Ti cards before I found one without bad coil whine. For some reason, the 780 Ti series is very bad for coil whine. Luckily, the one I got without it is a 780 Ti Classified. All the others were reference PCB's.

My AMD Sapphire HD7950 card is reference which had a loud coil whine only on benchmarks, so my guess they are common with most cards.

Yes, I've seen the 3DMark performance gain but what I actually meant is what performance gain do you get in games like AC4, BF4, Crysis 3 etc.?

I'll test the difference with tomb raider when I get home. Stock vs 1300mhz

Re: My new GTX 780 Ti Classified (Review) 2014/02/26 02:45:30 (permalink)
Okay, after a good 3 hours of testing OCs, becnmarking, and monitoring temps, I have discovered my max stable OC(Heaven, Valley, Fire Strike, OC Scanner, Skyrim, Crysis 3) on LN2 bios. 1303MHz! My goal was 1300MHz and I just barely made it. I am stable at 1320MHz, but there was a tad bit of artifacting in Heaven so I backed it down 15MHz. I could probably go higher, but it isn't needed right now. Maybe in the future if I still have this card when games start to become more taxing. Also, is it just me or does Unigine Heaven seem to really bring out the artifacts on cards? I could do 1350ish in Fire Strike, but it will artifact like mad in Heaven.

This card is amazing. No whine during benching or games, no fan rattle, and the fan is surprisingly quiet on auto! The card never goes over 65c with auto profile and stays around 55-60c with the fan set to 70%. 100% seemed to keep it around 54c which is too much of a noise trade off from 70%. I am very happy.

Here are a few pics and benchmarks. The Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite benchmarks are at 1440p with default Classy settings and then 1300MHz settings.

Fire Strike

Heaven

Tomb Raider - 1440p - Maxed - Default 780 Ti Classified

Tomb Raider - 1440p - Maxed - 1303MHz Core - 7440MHz Memory

BioShock Infinite - 1440p - Maxed - Default 780 Ti Classified
Average FPS: 117.77

BioShock Infinite - 1440p - Maxed - 1303MHz Core - 7440MHz Memory
Average FPS: 129.11

So gains were pretty minimal in Tomb Raider, but pretty high in BioShock Infinite. It will definitely vary by game.

Are you running the stock LN2 bios, or did you update to the optional bios, offered by EVGA Chris, or some other bios? If you are on the initial stock, that is you problem. More than likely. Send EVGA Chris a message and request the option ln2 bios and your card will run much better.

Also, you say max power and voltage? What are you using to control voltage with? If it is the EVGA voltage thing on precision, then you aren't doing much, if anything at all. Head over to OVERCLOCK.NET and look up the classified owner thread, post one, and download the classified voltage tuner. You will have much better results. Also, do a lot of reading toward the last 10-15 pages of the thread for the most updated info. People are figuring things out pretty quick.
