First build using a EVGA board and mainly did so because of the color scheme I wanted to go with. I finally got everything running great after some memory issues and heat issues with the northbride using the H50, but after some help from the community all it took was a 40mm fan and I was good to go.
Corsair Obsidian 800D case with EVGA x58 SLI LE
H50 Cooler
Crucial Ballistic Tracer 1600mhz ram
Antec 1000
2x 4890's
Some tubing and red paint markers from walmart and TA DA !!!! It's finished.

    It does boot ok yeah?...jks
I see you have your CPU underwater, tell me how are the other temps? does the fane on the Nb hs help?

I love the red outline.  Did you just paint those?  What did you use?  I see you got them from Wally World, but what did you use exactly.  I want to try this myself.

Outstanding attention to detail.  Very well thought-out.  Congratulations!

Just a red paint marker from Walmart made by Elmer's and some patience. Anything that had a defined edge that I could get the tip to slide steady on pretty much is where I painted.

lol Well I was browsing and seen it on newegg and along with the reviews the color scheme caught my eye. I did do research on the mobo and made sure it supported what I needed first and it did so yea the color made the choice for me.

I have the  Cpu at 3.8 and my idle temp is anywhere from 30-33 ( readings from real temp) the board lcd shows 22.
This case has amazing air flow and all my temps seem to be excellent. Vreg stays in the low 40's and the system temp stays about 35 .. My 4890,s stay in the 45-50 Idle range but with no air being circulated around the Northbridge it was getting extremely hot and causing me freezing and random shutdown issues. Idle temps on the NB were in the 70's and I seen it get close to a 100 after some heavy testing. The 40mm fan brought temps down to the 50's and Ive only seen it hit 61 as a high, so the fan helped greatly.

WoW thats such a great improvement with such a tiny fan, 40deg better in load temps, thats impresive!

Your case looks fantastic and perfoms well to boot, some will say you can clock it a little more aggresivley, thats up to you!

Just as the diagram shows above the case is designed very well. I have 3 120mm in the top pulling air out.. 2 120mm on the H50 pulling air in. 140mm on the bottom pulling air up and 140mm on the hard drives.

I knew you were just being humorous and  I was able to get the 17 920 D0 to about 4.2 stable but I found the temps a lot higher and at 3.8 I do not have to make any adjustments to the the vcore. And for what I do it suits my needs.  I was impressed about the temp change on the north bridge and was surprised to see how high the temps were to begin with. I assume if you have heat sink with fans that the airflow helps cool it ??? and that's why it was so hot.

Congratz & excellent job, well done.

I use a Thermalright HR-05 for the NB & I get anywhere from 35C to 45C depending on ambient temps and OC.  Oh & BTW this is passive cooling (no fan).  With a fan the temps would be better.

Very nice build man, congrats with the color scheme working its ****in' haha. You really do like the case? i saw it when i was looking into the H50 and the thing i loved about it was the cable management holes, the rubber blocking things i guess you could call it. Didn't look much into it but i plan to now hearing that someone really likes it, also how would you compare the H50 to (if you've had any) good fan heatsinks?

Good on you for being Sencible and not frying things in there 3.8 is not 4.2 but its a LOT better than stock and the rig should serve you a lot longer for this. So you can look at your handywork, Pinstriping, flashing ram for ages to come

I did a build for a friend with the same case and cpu and we used a v10 heat sink on his and while the temps at idle are similar the H50 seems to keep a steady temp under a load (60ish) while the v10 seems to climb higher (70ish). Considering the price I think its a good choice. I had a cooler master cosmos and a lian li case before this one and I must say I like this case much better.  The cable management is excellent on this case and so is the  air flow.

I love the red outline.  Did you just paint those?  What did you use?  I see you got them from Wally World, but what did you use exactly.  I want to try this myself.

Outstanding attention to detail.  Very well thought-out.  Congratulations!

@snooooze:  you sound a little jealous/antagonistic in my opinion.

Thanks and the materials used cost me less than $15 bucks at Walmart.
Red Elmer's Painters marker- used for edging. Very simple... anything that had a defined edge I could use the tip on steady... I painted.

Black Elmer's Painter marker and small paint brush. I used the black to cover any of the wiring showing from the fans or power supply. I just colored the tip of the brush and blotched the wires and it goes on very nicely.

The tubing is used to cover wires behind your tv and such and even though my power supply had black sleeving I thought the tubing matched the H50's water lines.

Thanks for the input.  I love the look very much.

I've been using the Obsidian 800d for about a month (it's one of my three rigs).  I'm not sure I would like it so much if I was air cooling the CPU.  However, with an H50 it works very, very well.  It's made for water cooling in my opinion.  I love this thing to death.  If I can find the paint stick I just may copy your idea.  It looks very nice.

@snooooze:  Sorry.  Didn't mean to start a war or anything.  I should have known you were just being the funny guy.  No hard feelings I hope.

I know exactly what you mean.  I lucked-out and got a used one here (I'm overseas as well).  Anyway, they are so darn expensive in Europe and almost every place I tried to order one in the States would not ship to my APO.  Anyway, I was browsing a web site and found a guy selling his for a really good price and it turned-out he lives very close to me.  I drove and picked it up that day.  It has one scratch, but I can live with it.

Next to my MM case the 800d is quickly becoming my favorite.  Like I said, it's made for LC in my opinion.  I'm not sure I would like it for air cooling though.

That is one of the best cable managment jobs I have seen whole package looks great nice work.

Thanks, I always spend a lot of time trying to hide cables. It's a pet peeve of mine that drives me nuts.. I hate seeing cables going everywhere.

WOW, thats a very sweet looking build
Shame you have to sell it :(

In the process of a new build myself and @ the point of choosing a case (for the last month).
    Been looking @
Half932 (needs int paint IMO) like it cause low rpm/big fans = quiter = wife wont complain about noise when sleeping
Thermal take speedo (dont like the name :/ )  like it cause black interior, lots of fans, seperated chambers. Exterior is a little iffy (I prefer simple)

Until I stumbled onto this thread, I never saw the Obsidian 800D
looks oh so sweet in this vid

Q- how are the noise levels? I've got to remember the wife.

Again, sorry youve got to sell it

*edit* Ima gonna get it (earplugs for the wife if need be)

This is all new to me so please be patient.  What it is I would appreciate is the feedback on a system that I had the pleasure of building.
I have absolutely no formal traing in the field of computers....I am in my 50's, and  this is one of those "bucket list" things I always wanted to try.
I must say that I am pleased with the outcome thus far but am looking for ways to possibly make it a bit better.  I'll have pics available just as soon as I can, but in the meantime would appreciate any direction and advice that I can get.
    My system is as follows:
    Monitor: Samsung T260HD 1080p
Case: Thermaltake Speedo full tower ATX with cooling chambers
    PSU: Ultra X4 1050
    Motherboard: X58 SLI
    CPU: Intel I7 920
    Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H50
    RAM: OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3
    Optical: 2x Samsung 22x DVDRW
                  Logitech MX5500 keyboard and mouse
Sound: Crative SB X-Fi Titanium Fatality Champ
    Drive 1: Seagate Barracuda 7200.1 1TB SATA
Drive 2: Western Digital 1TB External USB
    OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit
    Video: Radeon 5870HD

Any comments, suggestions,  direction, or advice will be appreciated..........Thanks
