Hey everyone, So I know I've been asking for individual part suggestions for a little bit now, but I'm getting ready to buy some more of the parts to my WC loop, and was just looking for suggestions. Keep in mind the system in my sig will NOT be what I run this loop in. I am doing a complete upgrade soon and this is what I'll have: - NZXT Switch 810 (White)
- Both of my disk drives in sig.
- Ivy Bridge Core i7 (unlocked version)
- Some Z77 MB
- 16 GB DDR3 RAM
What I have so far for the loop: - Primochill PrimoFlex LRT Pro White (3/8" ID, 5/8" OD)
- Swiftech Apogee HD
- Compression Fittings
- Reservoir
- Pump
What I need to get: Thanks to everyone who helps me out

The rad you have listed is fine for cooling the CPU and you can place it on top without any worries. Like i said before, get the res/pump combo to save space.

I'll most likely go that route..do i need anything I didnt list? Some sort of way to drain the system? To be honest, thats the thing I'm most worried about, as I've never done this before...

I would get the mcp355 it is better than the 655 becauce of head pressure. the mcp655 comes close to it because of gph raystorm is a great block for the price Here is a guide as well ( I made) http://forums.evga.com...700&mpage=1#850227

^^ Good video for him to start with and have an idea what i meant. Thanks for posting it hatchetrunner MCP355 i only use it for a single application like cooling the CPU, but since i decided to add the mobo block and another single rad to my loop, i went for the MCP655 and I am very happy i did. Again, I am always looking ahead and if you are going to watercool your rig, having an dual bay res with one pump seems a bit useless and not getting your money worth. Having a two split reservoirs where you can connect 2 MCP 355 pumps is better for a future upgrade.

i can't tell what size radiator ur case can support, i suggest u go search up ur case + water cooling and see what other people can fit in it. from the pictures i've seen, i think it will fit only a 2x120mm fan radiator. if u want to mod ur case, u can probably fit a 3x120mm radiator for your pump, get the swiftech MCP655 or the 35xt, u cannot go wrong with either pumps and they are both known commonly used. for radiator, if ur looking for best bang for ur buck, stick with a swidtech radiators, either the mcr 220 or 320. there is also the xspc rs (240 360) i believe that is equivalent to swiftech radiators. But if u have money to spend, get xspc rx series, either the 240 or 360. the radiators i have suited are more suited for low rpm fans (800-1800 rpm). both res you have selected are fine, its personally preference how u want to do it. For me, i used an ek multi res. http://www.jab-tech.com/E...150-Basic-pr-4818.html what it comes down to is how u want to design ur water-cooling. i have a big glass window so i like to show off the water this way the compression fittings u have picked are Okay too. they're new but i prefer the original bits power compression fittings. i feel the monsoon compression fittings look weird. http://www.frozencpu.com/...5.html?tl=g30c409s1033

I am not sure if the rx rad can fit if it doesnt get the ex rads by xspc I have done testing on this rad personally and tried out two kind of fan. I used the xspx 1650rpm fans 6.95 and the gentle typhoon 1850rpm fans and the temps were identical

I forgot the paper towels, lol. THanks DaveB for pointing that out on the other thread To the OP, take your time assembling it. Make sure the tube fits well on the compression fittings, you have to insert the tube all the way in, touching the fittings and then you tight them up with the ring. I usually measure and cut the tubes 1 inches longer to give some room for cutting error. Once all the tubes are measured and cut, take a compression fitting and start opening up both ends of the tubes, that way, you don't apply too much pressure when plugging them into the fittings already place in the block.

I'll edit it to a real question...are there any cases that are better for liquid cooling around the price of the cosmos 2? I'll take suggestions on that as well, just to see what people think.

Ok, so I think I'm going to go with the Koolance PMP-450S and a pump top or D5 res/pump combo...with a regular D5 top work on this? It says it's a D5 "Strong" thanks

Alright, so I got the Koolance PMP-450 (speed control version) and the top that Koolance made for it. I had a credit to amazon and the speed variable version was $1 more. I'll get a single bay reservoir, because I think I'm going to put my SSD in the Cosmos II hot-swap bay

Where ate you getting your parts from? Frozencpu.com is a good site but if you are getting koolance parts get them directly from koolance website. Frozencpu marks up a lot or their stuff anywhere from $0.50 to a few bucks per item. It could end up saving you $50 or so depending on how much you buy

I got the top for $50 shipped. Which is about $7 less after shipping direct from koolance and about $9 less than frozenCPU. That I got from hellfire a reputable seller on eBay. I used $50 in amazon credit to get the actual pump from amazon for a total of $35. Also, I'm mostly getting parts from performance-pcs.com because I've noticed frozenCPU is more expensive. The reservoir is much cheaper if I buy it through jab-tech.com or sidewindercomputers.com (can't remember). If any other sites are good/cheaper let me know. So that leaves me down to a reservoir, radiator, and coolant (most likely distilled water) Thanks guys.

Check out some of the reservoirs from xspc. They have some res/ pump combo units and look nice too. Koolance has some nice combo units as well but a bit more pricer than xspc.

im useing an XSPC atm but have used black ice GTX befor this build. you might want to take your time and build in steps. ie fit the MB in the case you choose and measure how much room you have. i ran into this issue and had to do some modding to get my push/pull setup to fit above my board. check my mod rigs in my sig for ideas and pictures of what im talking about.

I haven't tried them yet, BUT, from what I have seen MagiCool is an OEM so you could get XSPC/BI/Feser rads much cheaper, and the main difference is it doesn't have their respective name on it. And per your question to my last reply, I meant the pump, not the top, im a huge D5/655 fan. If you opt for the name brand, XSPC makes good stuff in general.

I got the official word. A 360mm rad will fit, but there is only 50mm clearance between the top of the Cosmos 2 and the MB. Would you suggest getting a thicker radiator and just doing a pull fan setup in the top, since even with a low profile rad I wouldn't be able to do push/pull? Thanks

Most 1" fans are only 25mm so two of them would fit assuming you arent using rubber spacers/fan silencers.

I would recommend a BI Stealth 360 with a set of AP 15's in push/pull, it will be a tight fit, but I think that would be best rad and airflow to maintain push/pull all internal.

Well if a larger radiator with a pull configuration would offer better performance than a thin one with a push/pull setup I'd rather have the performance gain. Would I see a benefit to push pull vs. a larger radiator (thicker)?

Push/pull space permitting is always the best. You will have more air flow vs just a single fan on push or pull and thus more effective cooling.
