That version and part # is NEW, doubt many are running it yet, I have however been well pleased with the RED line enhanced version, running at 1648, at 7,8,7. And bought them because I was haveing issues with corsair X3 memory.

    Mushkin overclocks easier than Dominator.

I have a 1600 Dominator GT kit and one of the sticks "expired" 2 weeks ago. I sent them for RMA, but not knowing how long it will take, I ordered these Mushkins: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002886KKQ

Currently I have the Mushkin @ 1700Mhz with the original timings of 7-8-7-20 @ 1.62V running stable! I had really hard time reaching 1700Mhz with the GT and at much higher voltage, not to mention $100 more...The Mushkin haedsink design sucks, but I am a true fan now. I'll probably just put the GT on ebay when I get them back fro Corsair.

I haven't used either but I hope someone who has chimes. I'm not sure I like the look of them but the specs are certainly top of the line. I hadn't even heard of these sticks before you pointed to them so I decided to look a little deeper. I haven't seen or searched for reviews but they're pretty new so I suspect we will soon if not already. Looking just at specs and being the Overclocker I always see more in less if you know what I mean and Honestly I think these are a better value also here. With timings like that I'd take my chances with an OC. Plus it would give you $60 to spend elsewhere.

Whether I go with Mushkin (not the Radioactives) or Corsair Dom GT's, would it be better to run the 1600Mhz kit or the 2000Mhz kit? I have the newegg site up and Amazon ready to order the mobo, CPU and memory so thats why I ask.

Both Mushkin and Corsair are good choices for memory. To date I have used Blackline, Redline, Ridgeback, and the GT kits. I would say the Blackline has been the most reliable of the kits going on two years of use now. I had to RMA the Redline kit due to having memory stability issues at higher bclk and received the Ridgeback as a replacement which works correctly. I have not had a chance to really push the Ridgeback yet to see what it can do. I did have to RMA the GT kit after 6-months of use due to a faulty stick but the replacement kit has been running rock solid so far. The GT kit can do nice tight timings at 1600 MHz. I currently run 6-7-6-18 but can pass LinX at 6-6-5-17.

Here is another kit to look at:

    http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=279

I have not seen this kit on Newegg in a while though.

The Radioactive Kits have the same heatsink as the Redline/blackline so Im going to assume it will cool and handle the same. Redlines/blacklines and ridgebacks are awesome for their price tag. I use to own the 2000 Mhz redline kit but they no longer make them and mine died due to my daughter spilling a cup of water on top of my case.

I would personally go with the lower latency rather than the higher speed. My reasoning behind this:

If you get the lower latency it would be easier to overclock the speed of the ram. But if you get the higher speed, it's going to be impossible to overclock it to the latency of a 1600, plus you can't be sure if the mobo can handle more than 2000Mhz; I know my x58 is rated 1600+, but never actually had a 2000Mhz sticks in it. And don't forget the price difference, too.

Mushkin Redline 998805 6-8-6-18 @1600mhz. These are the higher end RAM sticks they make.

The middle grade Black Lines to get would be the following
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226028

After looking on Newegg I see that you can get the Redlines for $150 after the MIR and for $7 more than the Blacklines you are getting a much faster product. I have never seen the Redlines this cheap so it might be the best time to buy them.

yeah you will have great success on an EVGA board with them. If you want a Mushkin case badge just go on there site and make a post on the forums and they will mail one out of no charge to you.

Any of there products I have purchased worked properly out of the box as long as you set BIOS features properly. They do allow for overclocking headroom as well if you so desire to.

The same redlines I was able to get to 2000mhz but had to loosen my timings to 8-8-8-24 but preferred having tighter timings at a lower frequency considering I run 2 different Redline kits (998805 + 998691) for a 6x2gb setup. I have that at 6-8-6-18 @1600mhz wiht my CPU at 4.2ghz and BCLK at 200mhz and can pass over 100 runs of LinX and other stress tests nicely.

    Good choice!
Here is one more reason not to buy Corsair:
Two weeks after I sent my Dominator GT for RMA, I get the following from Corsair:

This is to inform you that your replacement part (CMG6GX3M3A1600C7) is currently unavailable without a definite ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival). We can offer you the CMP6GX3M3A1600C7 as your replacement.

They want to replace the GT with some vanilla memory, kinda like if you sent EVGA a bad 480 and they replace it with a 260 :(  Corsair now is at the bottom of my list, way past PNY....

Not to uncommon for Corsair or any other mfg for that matter. i had 4 1GB sticks all same rev 1.1. Two sticks went bad got the replacements rev 1.2 and all the sudden the 2 pair coupling refused to work together and Corsair refused to support. It does leave a bitter taste in ones mouth.

I'm personally not a fan of mushkin. I've tried two pairs of their ram and have had no luck with them at all... Corsair on the other hand has never done me wrong.

P.S. Corsair agreed to replace them with a newer version of the GT, so +1 for them :)

I have a pair of the same kit, just a different heatsink. These are great!

I would also stick to the lower latency vs. higher frequency if your planning on overclocking.

Myself I have both set at the moment. Mushkin redline 6-8-6-24 and the Corsair Dominator's GT 8-8-8-24 2000mHz. Trying to decide which one to keep. I can run the GT's at 6-8-6-24, but looking at going 12g later. Any input would be helpful. Sorry about adding this to your tred

well i have 2 different Mushkin Redline kits one is 998805 and the other is 998691. Both are 3x2gb kits and I put them together for 12gb and run them at the higher 6-8-6-18 even though the 998691s are rated for 6-7-6-18. loosening the timing just a bit stabilized them to work better and i have not had any problems  in my set up with mixed kits from Mushkin.
If you have the 998805s i would just buy another to match them.

Look like the GT's will be put up for sale, once they sell I will be picking up me another set of the Mushkin. I like Mushkin, they are only a 20minute drive from my house, so RMA's if ever needed I do in person.
