Here is the MSI x99 lineup

X99S XPOWER AC source

X99S GAMING 9 AC source

X99S GAMING 7 source

X99S SLI PLUS source

For me I see a Gaming 7 in my future. fingers crossed... hope the reviews are good
If the Gaming 9 is reasonable (210 or less) I love the I/O cover which makes for a much better look but I don't need some of the other bells and whistles just to have that if the price is too high.

I am still impressed. Does anyone else think that the slow boot option, manual adjustable bus speeds, multiple clock generators, open CPU socket area, low airflow requirement design, delid socket adapter, low-profile backplate, and other features are impressive? This is the most impressed I have been with sales propaganda in quite a while.

I'm impressed too and have actually enjoyed owing my current MSI board.
First board in a long time I didn't find the need to update the bios on. Even though there are two releases above the one I use.
All but the XPower are up for sale at New Egg and more expensive than I thought they would be but in line with the competition and still represent a solid value.

    X99S Gaming 9 AC $428 USD
    X99S Gaming 7 $288 USD
X99S SLI Plus $228 USD (also compatible w/Xeon processors)

    It should be noted:

    1. All MSI X99 motherboards will come with Turbo M.2. Gen3 x4 which can deliver up to 32Gb/s data transfers which is 3x faster than a normal M.2 slot.
    2. MSI plans to release the MSI Z99S MPower a few less bells and whistles compared to the XPower.

Wait why/how would you delid a 2011-3 cpu? They use solder not TIM, that feature seems kinda useless. slow boot option sounds interesting, I imagine that this allows users who use SSD's the option to actually get in their bios without slamming the f10 key in hopes of getting in. The rest of the features seem pretty standard, or I am not sure what they are like the open cpu socket area I couldn't find any information on google about that. Though there may be other features you did not list that are unique and useful.

I will admit the X-power is very very clean looking. I have also slowly gained a appreciation for blacked out mobo, so the x99 SLI plus is also very sleek. If I had to choose one I would probably  go with x-power not sure how many yellow parts are available for a computer though in this world.

I have delidded soldered CPUs before. Even though the change isn't as dramatic, it still usually helps some. You just have to be more careful while delidding.

Slow boot is designed to keep the cpu components methodical during the boot process under extreme cooling measures. You lower them temperature down prior to ever booting, so starting up at full speed and - 70c can be rough on the processor components, so slow boot keeps it nice and calm and let's them adjust prior to dumping 1.6-1.8v through the parts. Quite a few boards have the selector to help during extreme cooling.

There was no MSI X79 matx so I doubt it but time will tell. Given the fact the SLI Plus board is only 20 PCIe lanes I suppose it's possible.

thinking of going with their matx or mitx 1150 gaming board,
But if they do release an matx x99, I might end up going that route.

    Really like their gaming series.

You Know? EVGA and ASRock both have an X99 MATX

Here's how they all stack up as it is right now.

Note: Prices as of 08/29/2014, lowest price from reputable retailers.

    Read more at http://www.tweaktown.com/...h-edition-/index7.html

Note: If you utilize one SATA Express on any of the following boards, you lose two of the SATA 6Gb/s ports listed.

    Note: M.2 (N/T/U): N= Normal (2x PCI-E 2.0 lanes), T= Turbo (4x PCI-E 2.0 lanes), U = Ultra (4x PCI-E 3.0 lanes).

Note: ASUS 6+3, the +3 comes off an additional fan controller board included in the package.

I should also state that the X99 chipset doesn't offer more than 10 SATA 6Gbps ports or more than 6 USB 3.0 ports, so there is obviously a lot of bandwidth sharing going on in almost all the boards above. This means that on many of these boards, bandwidth is being shared, and not all the features might be available at the same time.

I think I saw a error the x99 Classy has 1 non-SSD m.2 slot. It is located left of the pcie slots. The report says the x99 classy only has 1 m.2 when it has 2.

I had to read up on it, and I believe they  are both gen 3. I could be wrong because the information was a bit confusing.

    Re: MSI X99 Lineup 2014/09/01 07:57:27 (permalink)
Fact is the M.2 sockets are not all created equal.
    N= Normal (2x PCI-E 2.0 lanes), T= Turbo (4x PCI-E 2.0 lanes), U = Ultra (4x PCI-E 3.0 lanes)
all the MSI boards are "U" sockets except for the yet to be released MPOWER board which is an "N".

Give this a read. Should give speed of light perspective. The article provides performance results for the 1st board to implement the M.2 "U" socket with a Samsung XP941 M.2 SSD. The same author has another article using the Samsung XP941 M.2 SSD in a raid-0 pushing 2gb/s.

The future is bright for storage.
