Hello,
I just purchased a Lian Li 011D EVO case and an EVGA 3080 ftw3 Ti Ultra GPU. I am wondering if I can mount the 3080 ti in my Lian Li case with the the Upright kit and have the GPU function normally. this is of course assuming adequate airflow in the case. Basically, will the 3080 ti work and cool itself mounted in the upright position?

    Make sure you have adequate airflow coming in to the case and you should get lower temps.

    Yes, make sure the GPU fans are not smashed up against the side of the case.  You would want at least 1/2 inch of space so the fans can easily pull in air for cooling
    Is the Vertical mount for 2 or 3 slots?
     
    Gen 4.0 ribbon cable ?
     
    I would test the GPU first, plugged directly into your MB PCIe slot ..... risers are a weak point, getting a new one that s bad is not unheard of

    Have a friend with that case and the same gpu be picky on your gpu cable so you get PCIe4 and it’s flexible enough. Load the case with quality fans and your gpu temps will drop even more over having it in normally positioned. Friends 3080 TI FTW3 Ultra temps dropped about 4-6c with the new gpu mount.

    It's also important when doing a vertical mount to make sure that the company does not list a size limit like 2 slot cooler only or weight limit. In general though as long as you have space for airflow it should work but the extension cables are not as good as being mounted on a motherboard I feel.

    Thank you for the replies!
    Sorry for the misunderstanding.  This is an Upright GPU mount not a vertical mount.  Basically, the GPU sits flat next to the MOBO.  I love the aesthetics of it and plan to install 3 fans behind the upright GPU exhausting are from the case.

    I’m hearing that due to how the cooling in series 30 GPUs’ work this kit must be installed in the Lian Li 011D Evo in the reverse case orientation to get the best cooling.  Meaning, the GPU must be mounted with the I/O pointed down.
