If your PSU needs water cooling your rig has other serious issues that should be addressed instead. That's purely an aesthetic gimmick that hurts water flow.

I say this based on the fact that if you already have a custom loop, and you're still managing to hotbox your PSU, you need new ambients, need to stop stressing your PSU so bad, and need to stop putting your PC in the microwave.

Waste of money. I see absolutely no reason to buy one unless you live in a place where it is 130F+ almost year round and you have no A/C.

Gives you another place to run pretty tubes to. Although I'd personally just buy one of those nifty internal reservoirs for that.

That said, I'd be more prone to making fun of someone for using one of these than thinking it was cool. Even RAM blocks make more sense.

No reason to water cool your ram just need proper air flow and you will be fine

Yes, I know this post is ancient.  Except I actually have a Koolance PSU-1000ATX-12N (1000W) and before that several (yes several) PSU-1300ATX-12N (1300/1700W) power supplies.  I've resurrected the 1000W and am currently using it.

The 1300/1700W had issues.  Note: it was 1300W on 120V and 1700W on 220V AC.  It had "incompatibility" issues with some mother boards (ie: it was "noisy") and would either not power on or intermittently die.  Sometimes you could "reset" it by unplugging for awhile (sometimes overnight) and pray a lot.  I sent back three I think before Koolance quit supporting it and instead came out with the 1000W model.

For the most part I am happy with the 1000W.  It too will sometimes need "resetting" but seems to be relatively reliable.

Do you need it?  LOL.  Of course not.  It's just fun to say you have zero fans in your PC (except perhaps on a radiator) .. plus it does look cool :-).  Heavy!

If anyone has either the 1000 or 1300 model I'm interested in it.  I could use a spare.  PM or reply to this thread.

Well, it’s me again. Apparently the only person still using Koolance 1000w water cooled psu. So I’ll just respond to myself. Maybe in a few years I’ll run across this post again.

I paid $700 about new for these. I paid about $400 for a “used” 1300w version although was practically new.

My 1000w is still doing it’s job. I run it tipped on its side even though you are not supposed to. The 1300w I could not run that way.

I broke a fitting inside the psu recently. Almost destroyed the psu trying to get it out. Anyway, I’m still looking for spare units if you have one. Try calling 952.201.7096. Leave a message.
