Does the Kingpin HC do a good job controlling VRAM temps? I'm mainly wondering if the backplate has thermal pads underneath.

But it is worth the upgrade the thermal pads, or more passive/active cooling on it. I didn't replace any pads, but run the mp5works active backplate, tested with about 26C ambiant and the memory junction doesn't go higher than 76C... With +1400 on the memory at 120MH mining... While running a triple 1440p at 120fps at +700 on the memory, I hardly go higher than 60C on the mem junction. It depends on what you want to do most, but still recommended to improve the backplate, it will increase you card lifetime quality.

Yeah I know, but seeing watching yourself fall down the lists really sucks. I went from hoping to be in one of the first few waves to who knows how long now.
Well at least you're better off then I am, I am about 117 on list...I was on a video conference call went the auto notify went live and went the call was over, I completely forgot about the queue...oh well ObscureEmpyre

While this is true, it would be nice for EVGA to have an actual queue system so we know where we are in it when we sign up for auto-notify. The way it is now, it’s irritating seeing onesies and twosies pop up ahead of you every day. Would rather know upfront where I stand is all.
Yeah, I know exactly how you feel. But, right now I am used to all this waiting and I realize the fact that there will be others ahead of me that are not in the self reported list.

$30 for 5 year warranty $60 for 10 year warranty you have to register the card and upload the receipt. go to "my evga", your products. find your GPU, and there will be a option to buy the extended warranty

Thanks, I've done the extended warranty and step up before but I was wondering the cost for this halo card. I know the 3060 has a different price ($20 for the 5 year and $40 for the 10 year) from the 3070 and 3090 (cards that I also had/have currently) so i was wondering if there was a different charge for the KP cards. Thank you for your time and sharing the info.

I am at 9:10 for the Kingpin and likely will get it at next drop (or would have already gotten it if those three people didn’t cheat the queue). Anyway, would love to swap for a Kingpin hybrid aio lol.
You’d have to swap the fans on the hybrid rad because they’re hot garbage from everything I’ve seen and read. For the price of the card, you’d think they wouldn’t penny pinch like that. Anyway, blame EVGA for allowing those who did to cheat the queue. Otherwise, I feel ya. All these people keep coming out of the woodwork since Tuesday, and my number keeps getting pushed back. If supply is consistent with the last go around for the KP HC cards, I should have mine within a month.
Wait the stock fans on hybrid radiator are junk? You mean poor quality or insufficient cooling? If normal usage (no OC) do they need to be replaced?
They're fine. Just loud for the performance.

Any consensus on what fans to get for a push/pull setup on the radiator? Vardar's?
There's no point in running push/pull on the thin radiator that comes with the hybrid. There isn't enough resistance from the radiator to make running push/pull useful. You just end up making more noise and/or reducing the static pressure of the fans because they end up fighting each other. I run Noctua A12x25s. I don't care for RGB, just pure performance. Vardar's aren't bad but I don't like EK. I prefer to stick with Noctua as they are the industry leader in balancing performance, quiet, and static pressure. Besides Vardar's, there's the Arctic P12, Arctic Bionix P120, Noctua P12.. Thermaltake made a copy of the Noctua A12x25 but I've heard it has some horrendous motor whine, so I'd stay away.

Agreed. I can’t imagine an absolute need to run push-pull with a thin rad. As far as fan replacement goes, I’ve been using Corsair ML120 Pros if you wanted to check them out. They’re great for static pressure, have a magnetic bearing, and can run really silent or make your rig sound like a jet taking off.

I've run push pull fans on other EVGA hybrid card radiators in the past and reduced my GPU temps by 3C on average. Have you personally tested the 3090 Kingpin Hybrid GPU temps under load in push pull?

Not complicated at all. Although, I use a fan hub that’s plugged into a motherboard header for AIOs as well as custom loops. Doing that allows for more control over the fan speed and behavior based on temperature.

The price is coming way down...they are now selling for $3300....after ebay fees and express shipping, that is like $2750...that is only about a $250 profit...once people in the queue start realizing there is no way to resell these cards for a profit(a resell price of about $3k), I think we will start moving very quickly again down the queue...then, for anyone who wants to do SLI or have 2x cards, you may even be able to buy a 2nd card for retail on ebay if you keep your eyes peeled

It blows my mind how people are desperate for top end cards, desperate enough to overpay for them. I know an item is only worth what people are willing to pay, but I just can’t fathom paying 1.5-2x retail price or more.
