So what about a GTX 750Ti Superclocked? Will it be okay to enable K-boost because it only draws power from the motherboard, has no 6-pin molex.

K-Boost is borked on the newer Nvidia drivers. Yeah seriously, it is time to upgrade your OS. There are several newer titles that won't run on either a 32 bit OS or XP
EVGA X99 FTWK / i7 6850K @ 4.5ghz / RTX 3080Ti FTW Ultra / 32GB Corsair LPX 3600mhz / Samsung 850Pro 256GB / Be Quiet BN516 Straight Power 12-1000w 80 Plus Platinum / Window 10 Pro

guys i appreciate the advice but maybe i should of explained myself better. Let me try.... I am determined to find out why the heck K boost is not working on winXP. I dont care if i am gimping it with this OS. There is a reason why i am trying to get this to work on XP. Yes i KNOW! i have dual boot Win7 64bit and WinXP 32bit for a reason here. I am trying to get a constant clock on my card for a particular game that suffers greatly when the card downclocks because of power saving feature. Ive done numerous tests already. This would happen even in Win7. Thats why i enable K boost in win7 and it works, but in winXP it does not!. there does that help you guys out?? Please there must be a command line or something where i can force k boost to work. Please help. thanks

why not just use Nvidia control panel and set it to maximum performance under power management? That keeps in game and apps that use 3d in full power mode and keeps it from down-clocking ,no need for K boost IMO for ANY games on the market now .

LOL What????? This absolutley nothing. I always keep my Nvidia Control Panel on maximum performance all the time. I dont know anyone who would do otherwise. Unless maybe your running a laptop on battery. Of course i have it set to maximum performance. K boost is the only thing that keeps your card from downclocking when in an idle state. Please there must be someone on this forum with the commands to make a batch file to force k boost. Please help

was trying to be clear on that as any previous Kboost (precision installed or not) must be undone before any driver install/update .I would disable it ,uninstall precision then the driver, reboot...Then Install precision Install Driver (try a different downloaded driver Pref Nvidia direct) Enable Kboost (remember to keep the start with windows enabled before next step) Reboot

I tried to explain this by saying clean install but yes. I am no stranger to EVGA Nvidia Cards and Evga Precision. All my drivers are always from Nvidia direct and i always uninstall Evga precision Before Installing/upgrading my Nvidia Drivers. It will let me enable K boost. But then after selecting start with windows and restarting my pc, my clocks are back to idle frequencies. It must not be applying the k boost period. works fine in windows 7 and always has. Same drivers too. Except Windows 7 environment There must be some sort of Nvidia Inspector Command out there that will force the effect on the card. I remember somewhere on this Forum, there was a post with these commands.

Yes that's it! Thanks, However, I just tried it and it does not work for me. I did however figure out what is going on but don't know how to fix it. Basically The power Management Feature in Nvidia Control Panel is by default set to "Adaptive". But the control to change it does not show up at all ON ANY Nvidia Drivers for Windows XP 32bit. So you have to go into Nvidia Inspector and change it there. BUT!!!!! any change you make has ABSOLUTELY no effect. So for some reason its LOCKED to Adaptive somewhere and any change I make using Nvidia Inspector has no effect. I have even tried the following: I did a clean install of an older Nvidia Driver ver 310.90whql and I even installed an older version of EVGA Precision X Ver 3.0.4. This did not help. When I enable K boost, I get the prompt to reboot, but afterwards clocks are still at 324mhz and voltage is still at 1.10v.

Why would you want the card to run at full clocks all the time and consume more energy? What do you gain if you are to OP running stock clocks and aren't doing it under the defense of 'adding stability to your overclock'?

Instead of asking me why am doing things this way, Please just reply with helpful troubleshooting comments. I don't have the time to fully explain why I want my clocks at 100% usage all the time. In short, a few games I play on Windows XP are suffering from terrible stutters when the GPU keeps dropping its clocks down every time I pause the game! It takes a horrible 5 or so seconds for the clocks to go back to full load once the game is un-paused. Bottom line is, I should be able to see and change the Power Management Feature in Nvidia Control Panel and the changes I make should work. So there must be a setting or control somewhere in XP registry im guessing that controls this feature. K boost does nothing like I said.

Guys, if your still interested or even give a (Edited out for masked foul language) Please keep the help coming. I greatly appreciate it. Im still having issues with Kboost on Windows XP 32bit. I would really like help from EVGA on this. As there should be a tweak/registry hack of some sort that will force my gpu to force constant voltage and clocks. thanks

Hey everyone, I'm very sorry for reviving this thread, but I really need help from You lads. So, I downloaded EVGA Precision X, installed it, rebooted, started Precision X - everything looks good (I downloaded it for K-boost, I used AfterBurner before, but the new update made it kinda crappy so decided to try Precision X), then I tried enabling K-boost, but the button just lights on for a nano second and turns black again. Any ideas? System: i7 1.35v ASUS-Z97 A mobo AMD (lol) EE 1600/CL9 RAM 2x4GB Gigabyte GTX 780Ti GHz edition 353.62 drivers (I would've bought the EVGA one, but I got a really good deal on the GB, so I went with GB instead) be quiet straight power 10 800w PSU Fractal Design Define R5 case Corsair Force LX 128GB SSD & WDD Black 1TB HDD Thank you very much, guys :)

Welcome to the forums... It's been a long time since I used PX and played with K-boost, but did you reboot after you clicked the enable kboost button? That was always needed to activate it in the past.

+1 for the reboot after enabling K-boost but I thought you said you rebooted. I use Afterburner 4.1.0 since I have less problems with it. You can use K-boost with Afterburner by using one of the skins from an older version of Precision.

I tried using the K-boost with the skin for MSI AB... enabled K-boost, rebooted, got BSOD'ed with code ending in 08 or something like that. I had to run the Windows Diagnostics tool and fix it and I managed to boot into windows, to a suprise, that the boost didn't work and it stills sits at ~350 when in desktop.

I have a GTX 760. It REFUSES to enable KBOOST. Whenever I click it, it just disables itself, or stays dark like I nerver clicked it. Here is a GIF using Gyazo to show you how FRUSTRATING THIS IS :(
does ANYBODY have ANY INPUT on how to make KBoost work?

I'm pretty sure you need to reboot after clicking the 'enable' button. After you reboot, your clocks should be locked at max.

When I try enabling or disabling Kboost, I get a PrecisionX_x64 warning that says please close 3d applications, then try again. Do I really have to keep ending task on the same software (like my calculator) over and over again? It's such a hassle. How could I at least filter out the common ones?
